Why use ICS? Application integration
Copyright © 2015 Oracle and/or its affiliates. All rights reserved. 15
Reducing Complexity • Traditional approach is to synchronise data by extending Applications

Reducing Complexity • However... point-2-point extensions quickly lead to complexity

Faster Implementations
• Intuitive visual designer: developed from the ground-up
• Learn once, apply everywhere!
– The process of building integrations between any two Apps is exactly the same
– What you do to integrate your cloud applications, your on-prem applications and bespoke systems is identical to what you do when integrating Oracle Applications
• ICS eliminates the need to learn and implement multiple tools and APIs
– Implement business requirements in minutes not months

SCALABILITY
Ringo needed an integrated Customer Experience solution comprising
Customer Service, Sales Force Automation, and Marketing.
IT REQUIREMENTS
27
Ringo’s IT requirements were a perfect fit for a Cloud based solution. Business Reply helped Ringo to implement the Oracle CX Cloud Suite.
Naturally, both Oracle CX Cloud as well as third party applications should be integrated in order to streamline processes and to guarantee an up-to-date and consistent data. However, for many of the applications out of the box integrations were not available.

ICS CONCEPTS
Connections represent service endpoints
(think web service operations).
A Connection is configured using one of the available
Adapters which determines the operations and data that
can be used in the integration.
Adapters include Cloud Application level adapters as well
as generic SOAP and REST adapters.
Integrations glue together Connections and provide
mappings for related business object data.

ORACLE’S EARLY ACCESS PROGRAM
Before the integration project, an Early Access Program was set up by Business Reply and
Oracle.
Allowed to “Try before you buy”.
The support and knowledge provided by Oracle’s ICS Center of Excellence, Product
Management and PTS was fundamental.
Helped to overcome initial challenges and issues.
Proved the integration feasibility and demonstrated ICS advantages

DEMO
33
Challenges
Initial problems due to early bugs (pre GA) and cloud instance network connectivity
issues, resolved during EAP.
For now, ICS cannot «pull» data; rather source applications must «push» data to ICS.
Scheduling will only be available in future releases.
Findings
ICS is highly intuitive: Really fast to use once you know the product
The Monitoring capabilities are helpful, we rarely needed to look at logs.
Pre-builts save huge cost and effort where available (including echo suppression)
Conclusions
ICS is highly recommended for integrating cloud applications (Oracle and third party),
like in Ringo Mobile’s case
