Before you run the Oracle Business Intelligence installer, you should have completed the third-party software installations.

1. Java SDK 1.5.0 or later For example, jdk-1_5_0_18-windows-i586-p for windows - Double Click installer file - Click Next

- Enter the JAVA installation path

1. Installation Oracle Business Intelligence To run the Oracle BI installer under Windows OS 1. Double-click setup.exe. The InstallShield window appears.

2. Provide the requested input for each screen.

2. Installing Individual Oracle BI Components

1. Installing Oracle BI Open Intelligence Interface This topic may apply if your deployment includes remote machine connection to Oracle BI Servers over a network. The Open Intelligence Interface installer installs the following components to remote client machines: ■ OracleBI Directory

■ jdbc ■ server\Bin ■ server\Document ■ server\Locale ■ server\Log ■ uninstall\_jvm\bin\client

■ OracleBIData Directory ■ tmp (folder is empty)

To install the Oracle Business Intelligence Open Intelligence Interface Ancillary Client 1. In the folder Client_Ancillary\Oracle_Business_Intelligence_Open_Intelligence_Interface, click setup.exe. 2. The meanings and default for each screen and prompt for the Oracle Business Intelligence Open Intelligence Interface. 3. Provide the requested input for each screen. To continue to the next screen, click Next. To return to a previous screen, click Back. 4. Enter the Installation Location and Data Location

2. Installing Briefing Book Reader Oracle Business Intelligence Briefing Book Reader can be installed on laptop computers. It is a

Windows application that provides a way to save static and linked dashboard content for viewing offline. Users specify dashboard pages for immediate or scheduled download. Key reports and dashboards can be reviewed and evaluated while disconnected from the network. To install the Oracle BI Briefing Book Reader under Windows

1. From the installation CD-ROM folder Client_Ancillary\Oracle_Business_Intelligence_Briefing_Book_Reader, or from the network location that contains the Briefing Book Reader files, run the program setup.exe. 2. The installation wizard window appears and prompts you through each screen. To continue to the next screen, click Next. If you need to return to a previous screen, click Back.

3. Installing BI Publisher Enterprise into OC4J 10.1.3.1 1. From the Oracle BI Publisher product media, navigate to the install directory. Run the program

setup.exe. 2. The installation program window appears and prompts you through each screen. Provide the

requested input for each screen 3. To continue to the next screen, click Next. To return to a previous screen, click Back.

4. Specify file locations. Accept the default drive and directories, or click Browse to change them. Do not change the Source Path. You may accept the default Destination Name and Path or change them as you wish.

5. Select installation type. The installation type screen allows you to choose between Basic and Advanced installs. The Basic type installs BI Publisher into a standalone OC4J bundled within the install. The Advanced type installs BI Publisher into an existing Oracle Application Server 10.1.3.1 (or later). Select Basic.

6. Choose your OC4J Administrator (oc4jadmin) password. The Basic install provides a standalone OC4J. Enter the password you wish to use for this OC4J. The Administrator password must be a minimum of 5 characters, maximum of 30 characters, and include at least one digit.

7. Review the summary information, which lists the components to be installed and shows the installation location and size. Click Install to begin the installation and display the Install screen.

2. Installing Oracle Business Intelligence Applications Software To install Oracle Business Intelligence Applications on Windows

1. Access the installation files on the installation CD-ROM, and then run the program setup.exe to display the Welcome page.

2. Click Next to display the Oracle Business Intelligence infrastructure and Java SDK directory location page.

3. Enter or browse for the location for the Oracle Business Intelligence infrastructure (for example, <DRIVE>:\OracleBI\), the Oracle Business Intelligence infrastructure data (for example, <DRIVE>:\OracleBIData\), and the Java SDK (for example, <DRIVE>:\jdk1.5).

4. Click Next to display the Select Oracle Business Intelligence Applications page. 5. At the Select Oracle Business Intelligence Applications page, select the applications that you want to

install, then click Next.

6. If you selected more than one application on the Select Oracle Business Intelligence Applications page, click Next at the informational page.

7. At the summary page, review the summary information and click Next to start the installation.

8. Click Finish.

When the installation is complete, verify that the following directories or files are installed: ■ The DAC folder. ■ The dwrep folder. ■ The Oracle Business Intelligence Applications repository file named EnterpriseBusinessAnalytics.rpd in the OracleBI\server\Repository folder. ■ The Presentation Catalog in the OracleBIData\web\catalog folder. The Presentation Catalog is provided as a zipped file named EnterpriseBusinessAnalytics.zip and will need to be unzipped before it can be used. – Language files (for the languages available for Oracle BI Applications) in OracleBIData\web\res folder. – Seed Data folder containing localization files. – Upgrade folder containing repository files from previous versions of Oracle BI Application and Siebel Analytics Application releases. Notes ■ The credentials required to log into the EnterpriseBusinessAnalytics.rpd file using the Oracle Business Intelligence Administration Tool are: – Username: Administrator – Password: SADMIN ■ Refer to the Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition or Oracle Business Intelligence Standard Edition One documentation for more information on working with the repository and Presentation Catalog.
