Advanced optical and system performance with excellent cost-efficiencyThe evolution of this bestselling microscope delivers new, cost-efficient improvements in both optics and system performance. Newly equipped with Olympus' leading-edge UIS2 optical system, it provides significantly enhanced image clarity in a variety of observation methods, from brightfield to reflected light fluorescence. For all inspection and training applications in the fields of biologyand medicine, the CX41 sets the pace for its class in bothbasic and system performance.

Outstanding flat images from PLCN objectives

The CX41 provides images of outstanding brightness and clarity in a variety of observationmodes. As well as Olympus' renowned UIS2 optics infinity system, it employs the PLCNseries of Plan Achromat objectives, which are made from carefully selected top quality glassand manufactured with the most rigorous precision. The result is a major improvement inimage flatness, with the 10x and 40x objectives in particular providing images that are amongthe very best in this class of microscope. Transmitted light illumination is from a 6 V, 30 Whigh-intensity halogen light source.

Excellent cost-performance in reflected light fluorescenceand other observation methods

Dry darkfield condenser / CX-DCDThis dry-type darkfield condenser gives asuperior darkfield effect without the need forimmersion in oil.Suitable for useat 10x and 40xmagnifications.

Darkfield central stop / CH2-DSFor darkfield observations from 4x to 40x.* Separate filter holder (CH2-FH) or attachment lens (CX-AL)required.

Low magnification adapter /CX-LAUse of the 2x low magnification objective allowsmacro observation.

Simple phase contrast attachment / CX-PH1, 2, 3For phase contrast observations at 10x,40x and 100x.

Slide condenser / CX-SLCBrightfield condenser / CH3-CDThese Abbe type condensers allowbrightfield observations from 4x to100x. Accurate centering is provided bythe attachment lens (CX-AL) and the irisdiaphragm, to exclude unnecessarylight and obtain bright Koehlerillumination right across themagnification range. These highlyeconomical condensers enable phasecontrast and darkfield observations bysimply adding basic accessories.

Reflected light fluorescenceattachment / CX-RFA-2Users can choose between blue or greenexcitation and transmitted lightobservations. UIS2 optics provide brightfluorescence images, with no intermediatemagnifications when changing fromtransmitted light to fluorescenceobservation. Standard PLCN objectives canbe used without replacement.

Simple polarizing condenser / CH3-CDPWith the optional plate adapter U-TAD,polarizing observations from 4x to 100xusing a tint plate can be performed. A U-GAN analyzer is provided for goutinspection. Polarizing objectives from 4x to 100x areavailable. * Separate polarizerU-POT and analyzerU-ANT required.

Phase-contrast condenser / CX-PCDThe multi-purpose CX-PCD condenserallows observation of brightfield, phase-contrast and darkfield images withoutexchanging condensers. Phase-contrastobservation from10x to 100x anddarkfieldobservation from10x to 40x isallowed.

Dependable basic performance assuresoutstanding operational convenience

Easy transportation and installationThe CX41 is eminently portable, withconvenient handgrips at the front and backof the frame and no inconvenient protrusionof the stage guide.

Move the specimen with just one fingerRubber grips are provided for the stagehandles, allowing the specimen to be movedsmoothly with just one finger. The slim bodyand conveniently positioned controls ensurethat everything is within easy reach, sooperators can maintain a natural posture.

Tilting binocular tube / U-CTBIThe tilting binocular tube lets each operatorselect the most suitable and comfortableeyepoint — a valuable contribution toreducing fatigue in extended observationsessions.

Inward-facing quintuple revolvingnosepieceThe quintuple revolving nosepiece enables awide range of magnification observationsand various combinations of objectives.Unrestricted access to the space in front ofthe objective allows specimens to beexchanged quickly and easily.

Torque adjustable focusing knobThe torque of the coarse focusing knob canbe adjusted, to suit different operators' needsand to make focusing smooth and easy whilekeeping the hands on the desk. A stageupper limit stopper is also provided.

Rackless stage with enhancedoperabilityTo keep the work area clear, and to avoidinterference with observation operations, the X-direction travel guide does not extendout from the side of the stage. The mainand sub-scale displays are designed foreasy read-out.

Anti-fungus treatmentThe treatment applied to theobservation tubes, eyepieces andobjectives, protects quality of opticalparts even in high humidity regions.

Trinocular tube/ U-CTR30-2Digital or video cameras can be attached foron-site/ remote illustration of educational/discussion meetings.

Digital camera/ DP22High-definition images displayed withstunning detail in real time. Seamlessconference support with real-time image display and smooth operation. * DP22 digital camera is not for clinical diagnostic use.

Trinocular intermediate attachment/ U-TRUA binocular tube on its own allows digitalimaging in combination with this trinocularintermediate attachment.

Drawing attachment/ U-DAThe drawing attachment projects an imageof the pencil and drawing surface into thevisual field.

Arrow pointer/ U-APTEnables insertion of an LED arrow fordisplay in a digital image.

2x magnification changer/ U-ECAMagnification is doubled by engaging theauxiliary 2x lens.

Eyepoint adjuster/ U-EPA2Allows the eyepoint position to be raised by30 mm. Up to two eyepoint adjusters canbe attached between the frame arm andobservation tube.

CX41+DP22

Dual observation attachment/ U-DO3Enables dual, simultaneous observation of a single specimen from the same directionwith equal magnification and brightness forboth operators. A pointer can be used toindicate specific sections of the specimen tosimplify the training process and enhancediscussion.
