For Windows XP:
1. Double-click System in the Control Panel.
2. Click the Hardware tab, and then click the Device Manager button.
3. Click the “+” sign before the item DVD/CD

Follow the instructions below to identify the model of your optical disc drive and upgrade its firmware.
click System in the Control Panel.
Click the Hardware tab, and then click the Device Manager button.
Click the “+” sign before the item DVD/CD-ROM drives, and note down the ODD model, for example:

2. Double-click the downloaded executable file to upgrade ODD firmware.
Uninstall ASUS Utility Before Upgrade
For desktop models, uninstall AI Manager,
Windows 7™. A message may appear after
the optical disc drive and follow the screen
1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel
2. Click Uninstall a program.
3. Select AI Manager, ASUS Update, EPU
Download the corresponding ODD firmware in the following address:

For desktop models, uninstall AI Manager, ASUS Update, EPU 4-Engine, and CPU Level Up before upgrading to
s 7™. A message may appear after upgrade indicating that the file Asio.sys is missing. Place the driver disc in
the optical disc drive and follow the screen instructions to finish upgrade.
Click Start, and then click Control Panel
Select AI Manager, ASUS Update, EPU 4-Engine, and CPU Level up, and click Uninstall/Change.
