Opportunities Week of December 6, 2019 REMINDER: Undergraduate Clinical Experience Program (UCEP) Application: The Undergraduate Clinical Experience Program (UCEP) program at SB HOME is the free medical clinic run by Renaissance School of Medicine's students. UCEP is a program designed to expose Stony Brook undergraduates to a clinical setting in order to provide students with experience working with patients of diverse socioeconomic backgrounds as well as to educate students on fundamental clinical skills. The event was specifically scheduled during January, so it is accessible to students home on winter break. This is a great opportunity for any student interested in a life sciences career path. PIRE Academy 2020: SUNY Albany and the SUNY Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion are pleased to announce the 2020 PIRE Academy for underrepresented minority students interested in Environmental Science and Public Policy. Through the sponsorship of an NSF Partnership for International Research and Education (PIRE) grant focused on climate change, we are offering a 3-day workshop for students that will involve lectures by prominent researchers in climate change, hands-on activities, and opportunities to interact with other SUNY students. Students will also have an opportunity to win a trip to Sao Paulo, Brazil to participate in a PIRE sponsored summer school in July 2019. Student participation is free of charge as costs for transportation, food and hotel are covered by the PIRE project. This is a wonderful opportunity to be active, learn, and share this experience with other SUNY students. The 3-day PIRE Academy will take place at SUNY Oswego from April 3 to 5, 2020. No prior research experience is required, and we are looking for undergraduates of all majors. Application Deadline is December 31, 2019. For more info, see attached flyer.
