Or view it online via barrie.ca/RecGuide. Municipal Property Tax Billing and Installment Due Date Notice The 2018 Final property tax bills have been issued for all property owners. All tax bills were mailed May 8 to June 1, 2018. If: a mortgage company is responsible for paying your taxes and you’ve received a bill, please forward the bill to your mortgage company for payment; a Tax Arrears notation is on your tax bill it means there were outstanding taxes/penalty owing at the time of billing. Any penalties/interest accrued after the billing date are not included in the June installment amount. Contact Service Barrie (705-726-4242) for outstanding balance; or, you signed up for monthly pre- authorized payments after May 15/18 and you haven’t received payment amount notification, contact Service Barrie (705-726-4242). Property tax final installment is due on September 26th. Penalties/interest for late payments is charged on the first day of each month at 1.25% per month. Payments received are applied first to all penalties owing, and then to the taxes owing. Failure to receive a tax bill does not excuse property owners from payment nor relieve late payment penalty. Transportation Awards Would you, your organization, or business like to be recognized as an active transportation user or contributor in Barrie? Apply for an Active Transportation Barrie Award! The award recognizes active transportation users and valuable contributions made by members of the community to support or encourage active transportation in Barrie. Award recipients will be officially recognized by the Barrie Active Transportation Working Group and be profiled on the City’s website. Local Musicians: Submission Process Now Open For Barrie's Downtown Countdown The City of Barrie is searching for a local band or musician to perform at the 21st annual Downtown Countdown. The selected act will have the opportunity to play a 30-minute set at one of the largest New Year's Eve celebrations in Central Ontario. Bands from Barrie and area that are suitable for a family audience are invited to apply. Submissions will be accepted until Monday, October 1st. Please include contact information, a bio, and a few examples of your best audio/video for the selection committee to review. Submissions can include where available: a press kit, CD(s), digital audio and video files, and/or direct link to a website, YouTube channel, SoundCloud, etc. You can email your submissions to [email protected] or drop them off at the Creative Economy Department, 56 Mulcaster Street (beside City Hall) from Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Visit barrie.ca/DowntownCountdown for more information.
