The UCSF Ophthalmology Update willupdate practicing ophthalmologists on advances in: glaucoma, pediatricophthalmology, neuro-ophthalmology,retina, oncology, oculoplastic andreconstructive surgery, cornea, refractivesurgery, external disease, and uveitis.
EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVESWe specifically anticipate improvements in skills and strategies to: • Identify in practice potential candidates for MIGS inthe management of glaucoma;
• More effectively prevent post-operativeendophthalmitis through the use of intracameralantibiotics and other strategies;
• Apply new knowledge of vitrectomy and scleralbuckling for an evidence-based management ofrhegmatogenous detachment;
• Present patients who are dissatisfied afterimplantation of an multifocal IOL with appropriatestrategies;
• Select the best surgical approach for patients withpseudoexfoliation and weak zonules.
