    Operation Remember Point System

The goals of the Operations trips have always been to honor our veterans and to foster thedevelopment of relationships between students and veterans. From the inception of the programin the 2011-2012 academic year, these goals have been accomplished through a variety of

activities, both before and after the trip itself. These activities are just as important as the tripitself.

While we are excited by the rapid growth of interest in the program, this growth also presentssome challenges. Given the number of students involved in the project, it will not be possible to

bring all students on the trip this year. We would still like to give all students the opportunity to participate in activities that will honor our veterans this year, our Korean War veteransspecifically and develop an understanding of our veterans experiences. To that end, we havecreated a number of activities that students may participate in, in addition to the trip.

We are still left with the unfortunate challenge of determining which 10 students will be going

on the trip to DC. To make this process as fair as possible, we have divided the activities into 4categories, devised a point system, and established the following guidelines: All students who are interested in going on the trip must complete a minimum of 10

points in each category academic, fundraising, outreach/service, research. The 5 students with the most points will be guaranteed a spot on the trip. The remaining 5 students will be by raffle.

o Each student who achieves the minimum 40 points (with 10 points coming fromeach category) will receive 1 entry into the raffle.

o For every 10 points beyond the minimum requirement, the student will receive anadditional raffle ticket.

In the event that more than 10 students are tied for most points, those students ONLY

will be entered into the raffle to go on the trip. Each of those students would receive asingle raffle ticket for that raffle.
