Read this manual before operating any machinery

ORIGINAL INSTRUCTIONS

Before starting any operation it is compulsory to read this instruction manual. The guaranteethat the hand stacker will function and perform properly is strictly dependent upon theapplication of all the instructions contained in this manual.

Operator Qualification

The operators assigned to using this hand stacker must be supplied with all of thenecessary information and instruction and should be provided with adequate trainingregarding safety in pertaining to:a) The conditions of use of the equipment;b) Foreseeable abnormal situations, pursuant to Article 73 of Legislative Decree81/08.

We guarantee the Hand stacker's conformity to the specifications and technical

instructions described in the Manual on the date of issuance and listed herein; On the

other hand, the hand stacker may also be subject to important technical changes in

the future, without the manual being updated.

Therefore, see FERVI for information about modifications that could be implemented.

1 INTRODUCTION

This manual is delivered with the hand stacker, and it must be regarded as an inseparablepart of it.

The manufacturer holds all ownership to material and intellectual property of this manual;any disclosure or copying, even partial, of this publication without prior written consent isforbidden.

The purpose of this manual is to provide the knowledge necessary for the use andmaintenance of the Lightweight foldable hand stacker Art. 0014 and create a sense ofresponsibility and an understanding of the capabilities and limitations of the means entrustedto the operator.

As the hand stacker is entrusted to experienced and skilled operators, the following handstacker must be perfectly known by the operator if you want it to be used safely andeffectively.

Operators must be properly trained and prepared, so make sure that this manual is read andconsulted by the staff responsible for commissioning, operation and maintenance of theLightweight foldable hand stacker. This is to make all operations the safest and mosteffective possible for those who carry out these tasks.

Therefore, it is imperative to strictly comply with the requirements in this manual, anecessary condition for safe and satisfactory operation of the hand stacker.

Before starting operation, installation and usage of the Lightweight foldable hand stacker,authorised personnel must:

carefully read this technical document;

know which protections and safety devices are available on the hand stackers, theirlocation and how they work.

The buyer is responsible for ensuring that users are properly trained, that they are aware ofall the information and instructions in this document and that they are aware of the potentialrisks of operating the Lightweight foldable hand stacker.

The manufacturer waives any and all responsibility for damage to people and/orthings caused by non-observance of the instructions in this manual.

The Lightweight foldable hand stacker was designed and built with mechanical guardsand safety devices designed to protect the operator/user from possible injury. It is strictlyforbidden to modify or remove guards, safety devices and caution labels. If this must be done(for example, for cleaning or repair), make sure that no one can use the hand stacker.

Modifications to the hand stacker carried out by the user must be considered theirsole responsibility, therefore the manufacturer waives any and all responsibility forany damage caused to persons and/or property resulting from maintenanceperformed by unqualified personnel and in a manner unlike the operatingprocedures shown below.

1.1 PrefaceFor safe and easy operation of the Lightweight foldable hand stacker, this manual mustbe read carefully in order to acquire the necessary knowledge. In other words, durability andperformance are strictly dependent on how it is used.

Follow the instructions contained herein, in addition to the general precautions to be observedwhile working. Even if the operator is already familiar with the Lightweight foldable handstacker, it is necessary to:

Acquire full knowledge of the hand stacker.

Read this manual carefully to understand: operation, safety devices and all necessaryprecautions. All this is to allow safe use of the hand stacker.

Wear appropriate clothing for the job.

The operator must wear appropriate clothing, so as to prevent the occurrence ofunpleasant accidents.

Maintain the hand stacker with care.

Using the hand stacker

The hand stacker must only be used by qualified personnel trained to use the hand stacker byauthorised personnel.

2 SAFETY WARNINGS

2.1 General safety rules for hand stackers

Risks associated with the use of the hand stacker

Do NOT underestimate the risks related to the use of the hand stacker and stay focused onthe work you are carrying out.


Despite the implementation of all safety devices for safe use of the equipment, it is necessaryto take note of all the accident prevention requirements highlighted in various parts of thismanual.


Each and every person who is responsible for the use and maintenance of the device shouldfirst have read the instruction manual, particularly the chapter dealing with safety.

It is recommended that the plant safety manager get written confirmation of the above.


During all work phases with the hand stacker, you should proceed with great caution inorder to avoid damage to persons, to the property or to the hand stacker itself.

Please only use the hand stacker for its envisaged uses.

Do not tamper with the safety devices provided by the manufacturer.


Before starting any work on the hand stacker, the operator must wear the appropriatepersonal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves and eye protection.

1. Always check the efficiency and integrity of the hand stacker.

2. Keep the workplace tidy and free from hindrances; disorder causes accidents.

3. Make sure that the work environment is forbidden to children, non-employees andanimals.

4. Do not perform tasks on the hand stacker other than those for which it was designed.Only use the hand stacker in the manner in which it was intended, as described in thisinstruction manual.

5. Work without disturbances.

6. Work areas must be well lit.

7. Wear appropriate clothing. Loose clothing, dangling jewellery, long hair, etc.., can getcaught in the moving parts, causing irreparable injury.

8. Replace worn and/or damaged parts, check that the guards and protection devices workproperly before operating. If necessary, have the hand stacker checked by technicalassistance personnel. Use only original spare parts.

9. Do not use the hand stacker in areas with a risk of fire and/or explosion.

10.It is recommended that users of this publication, for maintenance and repair, have abasic knowledge of mechanical principles and of repair technique procedures.

11.The person responsible for company safety is to make sure that the staffresponsible for using the hand stacker have read and understood this manualin its entirety.

12.The company safety manager is responsible for monitoring the company's riskstatus according to Legislative Decree no. 81/08.

2.3 Other provisionsIT IS FORBIDDEN TO TAMPER WITH SAFETY DEVICES

The first thing to do when starting work is to check for the presence and integrity of theprotections and the operation of the safety devices.

If any defect is encountered do not use the hand stacker!

Even more so, it is strictly forbidden to modify or remove guards, safety devices,labels and indication signs.

4 INTENDED USE AND DESCRIPTION OF THE HANDSTACKER

The Hand Stacker (Art. 0014), is a machine designed for the lifting and transportation ofloads, arranged on pallets or in normalised containers, on flat smooth floors (such as thefloors of industrial warehouses) with appropriate hardness and resistance (capable ofsupporting the weight of the Stacker plus the maximum rated load capacity).

The working environment must also be sufficiently well lit to ensure maximum operationalsafety (at least 50 lux are recommended).

The operating temperature is within the range of – 5 / + 45°C.

Other types of use, or the extension of use beyond that envisaged, does notcorrespond to the designation attributed by the manufacturer, and therefore thelatter cannot accept any responsibility for any damage resulting therefrom.

The Stacker is made up of the following parts (see Figure 1):

a strong metal structure, equipped with a pair of forks (ref. 1) that can be varied inheight from the ground level; the forks are inserted into two through rods and are heldin place by 4 cotter pins (ref. 3);

a lifting cable (ref. 9) connected to the fork carriage;

a pair of steerable wheels (ref. 2) that allow the direction of travel to be adjusted;

two rear wheels (ref. 4), on which the parking brake is applied;

a pedal operated parking brake (ref. 5), which, when pressed, locks the two rearwheels of the stacker preventing its movement.

a lock for the lowering of the forks (ref. 6), which mechanically prevents the forks fromdescending down to ground level;

an identification plate (ref. 7) which lists all the characteristics of the machine;

a lifting handle (ref. 8) equipped with a safety pin which locks the rotation of thehandle and thus prevents the descent of the load.

a pair of wheels positioned at the upper part of the stacker (ref.10) to allow the stackerto be used horizontally.

Sloping floors

Do not use the stacker on sloping surfaces. Only use the stacker on flat floors with amaximum inclination with respect to a horizontal position of 1%.

4.1 Safety devices

The main safety devices present on the hand stacker are:

The pedal operated parking brakes;

The lifting cable casing;

The mechanical stop on the lifting handle;

The descent lock for the forks

The identification plate indicating the maximum load capacity (see paragraph 3.2).

The pedal operated parking brakes (ref. 5),consisting of two movable brackets, are installed on thefixed rear wheels and protect the stacker from thedangers arising from undesired movements whenparked and/or during the lifting / lowering of the load.

For a more detailed explanation on the operation of theparking brakes, see paragraph 8.4.

PREVENTION OF ACCIDENTS

1. The Stacker must only be used byauthorised and qualified personnel.

2. The Stacker must be used appropriately,according to the use for which it is intended.

3. Do not load the Stacker beyond themaximum capacity specified on the plate.

4. Do not load the weight on a single fork, butalways balance the load on both.

5. Fully insert the forks under the load and donot use only the tips.

6. Raise heavy loads only a few inches off theground to avoid unbalancing the Stackerduring movement.

7. Never allow unauthorised personnel withinrange of the hand stacker while it is inoperation.

8. Do not lift people and/or animals.

9. Do not stand under suspended loads.

To be able to correctly interpret the identification plate, the relationship must be clearbetween the maximum lifting height, load capacity and the centre of gravity:

the load capacity is the maximum weight of a load (with centre of gravity at a certaindistance from the fork holder plate) which can be raised up to a certain height;

the distance of the centre of gravity is the distance between the rear part of the loadand the centre of gravity, where it is supposed that all the mass of the load isconcentrated;

the lifting height is the distance between the upper surface of the lifting platform (onwhich the load rests) and the ground.

Below is the plate indicating the residual capacities:

The higher the lifting height, the lower the maximum load capacity permitted.

The greater the distance of the centre of gravity of the load, the lower the maximumload capacity permitted.

The plate shows the value of 181 kg, which the manual Hand stacker can lift up to a heightof 1200 mm, for a uniformly distributed load on the platform with the centre of gravity 305mm from the fork holder plate. At a height greater than 1200 mm, the maximum loadcapacity of the stacker is 100 kg.

Maximum load capacity

NEVER exceed the maximum load capacity of the stacker.

Read the identification plate carefully. Any mistakes made when reading the plate couldlead to a very serious or fatal injury.

Maximum load capacity

At a height greater than 1200 mm never lift loads weighing over 100 kg.

Distance of centre of gravity

DO NOT lift loads with a distance of centre of gravity exceeding 305 mm.

5 IMPROPER USE AND CONTRAINDICATIONS

The following actions described, which obviously can not cover the entire range of potentialpossibilities of "misuse" of the hand stacker, are to be considered strictly prohibited.

THE FOLLOW ARE STRICTLY PROHIBITED!:

Lifting persons and/or animals that could fall;

To lift loads while there are people near the hand stacker;

Stand or pass under the raised forks;

To lift loads heavier than the maximum rating indicated on the plate;

Lifting unbalanced loads, with dimensions that exceed the set limits;

Loading the forks only on one side or in one place. The load must be evenly distributedon both forks;

Using the ends of the forks as levers to lift loads;

Loading when forks when they are partially raised;

Using the hand stacker on uneven rough surfaces and/or surfaces that are not strongenough to support the load (hand stacker + maximum nominal load capacity);

Lifting loads that can change their static configuration, and/or their centre of gravity;

Using the hand stacker when there is a possibility of the load moving accidentally;

Turning at a right angle to stop the truck;

Using the hand stacker as a jack for lifting vehicles;

Leaving the loaded hand stacker unattended;

Performing sudden manoeuvres with the hand stacker loaded;

Allowing untrained staff to use the hand stacker;

Using the hand stacker if you are not psycho-physically fit;

Using the hand stacker without due care;

Using the hand stacker for purposes other than those for which it was designed;

Operating the hand stacker under unforeseen environmental conditions;

Using the hand stacker in case of insufficient lighting.

Crushing people

It is forbidden to transport people!

Serious injury may result from the transport of people.

Do not allow anyone to stand near or under the Stacker when inmotion.

Maintain a safe distance between the stacker, people andobstacles to give the operator time to stop if necessary.

Watch out for pedestrians!

Pay attention to the forks when turning on the move.

Make sure there is sufficient space to be able move without hittingpedestrians.

Be careful not to trap people between the Stacker and fixedobstacles (walls, shelves, etc.).

Avoid Dropping to Protect Feet from Crushing

Keep your feet away from the wheels and the Stacker frame during travel (both empty andloaded).

Use in private areas

It is prohibited to use the Stacker on public roads.

The Stacker is not authorized to be used on public roads. It can be used only in private areas.

Danger of explosion

It is prohibited to use the Stacker in areas where there is a risk of explosion. Serious damagemay be caused as a result!

The Stacker is not equipped for use in areas where there is a risk of explosion.

6 TRANSPORTING, LIFTING AND MOVING

The lifting of the Stacker for transport can be done by means of a crane or other liftingequipment of suitable load capacity.

LIFTING THE HAND STACKER

Insufficient load capacity

Ensure that the lifting machinery and lifting accessories used have sufficient loadcapacity.

If the Stacker tips over or falls during the lifting operations, serious injuries may becaused.

To lift, harness the Stacker, using appropriate lifting accessories with sufficient load capacity(polyester straps, steel cables, chains, etc.).

Pass the accessories below the upper beam of the upright, and then attach them to the hookof the lifting means.

Transportation requires industrial vehicles such as trucks, lorries etc.

The Stacker is equipped with wheels, so when moving it, make use of its directional andmovement capabilities.

TRANSPORTING THE HAND STACKER

The hand stacker can be transported with the aid of its wheels both in a horizontalconfiguration and the vertical configuration. For use in a horizontal configuration make sureto insert the "upper" wheel axle into the outermost hole on the frame to allow the wheels toslide smoothly.

7 COMMISSIONING

7.1 Unpacking instructions

Before disposing of packaging, check that no parts of the hand stacker, including theuser manual or any further documentation, are going to be thrown away.

Standard packaging

Packaging materials (plastic bags, polystyrene foam, etc.) must not be left within reach ofchildren as these are potentially dangerous.

7.2 Checking the hand stacker

Before each use, check the perfect state of conservation of the structure, cables,forks and parking brakes.

Carry out a test lift (unloaded) before proceeding with actual use.

7.3 Assembly of the hand stackerThe hand stacker is disassembled inside the package to minimise the space occupied. Torender the Hand stacker operational, it will be necessary to assemble the lifting forks and thefront swivel wheel supports.

7.3.1 Assembling the swivel wheel supports

To assemble the swivel wheel supports:

Insert the support into the housingprovided at the bottom of the handstacker.

8 USING THE HAND STACKER

Moving loads manually

The manual handling of heavy loads always implies a risk of crushing resulting frommishandling.

The workers involved must proceed in accordance with the operating procedures and safetyprecautions in this manual and must be provided with any necessary accident preventionequipment (anti-crushing gloves and shoes).

At the rear of the Stacker there is a manualwinch that with the help of cables and pulleysraises the forks. The manual winch is equippedwith a safety lock to prevent the load on theforks from lowering suddenly without theintervention of the operator.

To lift a load rotate the manual winch until it reaches the desired height and then use thesafety lock to prevent the descent of the load. To use the safety lock rotate the manual winchuntil the lock pin is lined up with the hole in the casing of the winch itself. Then pull thespring pin towards you and release it to insert it securely into the hole (Figure 18 Ref. B).

For added safety during transport or when lifting a load it is recommended to engage the forkdescent locking device to secure the forks at a determined height to prevent unintendeddescent of the forks. To operate the lock pull the release pin located on the right part of thelock itself and rotate it horizontally. (Figure 19 Ref. B).

LOWERING THE LOAD.

To lower the load, disconnect the safety lock and rotate the manual winch in the oppositedirection to that used to lift the load. The speed of descent depends on the speed of rotation:the greater the rotation the greater the speed with which the platform descends, and viceversa.

8.1 Lifting the load

Tipping and/or overturning

The manual movement of heavy loads involves a risk of tipping / overturning resulting frommovements carried out quickly and without paying due attention. The assigned workers must,therefore, perform the manoeuvres of moving the stacker, especially on curves or at lowspeed, with extreme caution.


The manual moving of heavy loads must ALWAYS be done with load at a low position (max.30 cm from the ground).

8.2 Parking brakes

LOCKING OF THE BRAKES

To operate the brakes, press the rocker pedal at the centreof the Hand stacker. Clicking this button will brake bothrear wheels of the Stacker.

Supporting the load

Always ensure that the parking brake pad rests completely on the tread of the wheel, so as toachieve stable and safe braking.

RELEASING THE BRAKES

To release the parking brakes, press the rocker pedal again at the centre of the Hand stacker.

9 MAINTENANCE

The purpose of this section is to provide all the information on maintenance proceduresand frequency that the Stacker requires.

Maintenance and repairs must be performed by qualified personnel.

For the execution of maintenance operations, refer to the complete drawings and the list ofcomponents found in chapter 12 of this manual.

9.1 Daily inspections or every 8 hours

10 DECOMMISSIONING

10.1 Hand stacker downtimeThe Hand stacker does not need to undergo specific conservation treatment if it is not usedfor long periods. Just make sure that it is kept away from atmospheric agents.

10.2 Disassembly and disposal of materials and componentsIf the hand stacker is to be scrapped, its parts must be separated for disposal.

The structure of the Hand stacker is made of iron, some gaskets, parts of the wheels and therollers are made of polymeric material.
