11 Intended use
The explosion zone traffic light system is used for signalling and regulation of traffic within explosion-hazardous areas in Zones 1 and 2 The explosion traffic light is used for closing(red traffic light) and releasing (green traffic light) explosion-hazardous areas in combina-tion with the Draumlger Switch OffOn boxes and the Draumlger X-zone 5000 through display of the appropriate traffic lightsThe traffic light is designed for mobile use and is easy to transport using its wheels It can be operated indoors and outdoors

13 Installation initial start-up operation
The installation electrical connection initial start-up operation and maintenance of the explosion zone traffic light system may only be carried out by trained spe-cialist personnel who have been authorised to do so by the equipment owner
Specialist personnel must be familiar with this operating manual and follow the instructions contained therein Before connecting the traffic light system ensure that the supply voltage complies with the value specified on the nameplate The explosion zone traffic light system has been prepared at the works for connection to a Draumlger Switch Off switchbox A Draumlger Switch ON Box can be connected as an alternative However this requires re-cabling of the traffic light terminal box Before switching the system on check all connections for cor-rect cabling again Ensure that the traffic light displays the correct signal colour for the cor-responding condition of the switchbox connected If not check the connections in the re-lay
Before installationinitial start-upRead the operating manual You must also observe the operating manual for the explosion-proof traffic signal 60912 made by STAHLInstallation and operating personnel must be sufficiently trained Ensure that the contents of the operating manual has been completely understood by the responsible personnel The national installation and assembly regulations (eg IECEN 60079-14) also apply
Before operating the traffic light you must ensure that
the traffic light has been properly installed the connection has been made properly the operating and nominal voltage have been observed the traffic light is not damaged
When operating the equipmentKeep the operating manual available at the location of useObserve the safety information Observe the national safety and accident prevention regulationsOnly operate the equipment in accordance with the performance dataMaintenance or repair work which is not described in the operating manual may not be carried out without previous agreement with the manufacturerDamage may cancel out the explosion protection Modifications and alterations to the equipment which could affect the explosion protection are not permitted Only operate the device and undamaged and clean condition

The traffic light may only be operated in explosion-hazardous areas in accordance with this operating manual
Summary of special warning notices
- If the housing is damaged or if the housing components (eg the connecting plug) are damaged the device must be taken out of operation immediately and secured against unintentional operation
- Free cable ends must be connected professionally (eg explosion-proof ter-minal boxes explosion-proof plugs)
- The traffic light must be powered down before the housing is opened - The traffic light lenses may only be cleaned using a moist cloth (danger of
static charging) - Do not use cleaning agents containing alcohol for cleaning - Equipotential bonding must be made via the housing earthing screw This
must be made using a spade terminal and the connecting cable of min 4 mm2
- If the X-zone Switch OffOn box is used the traffic light may only be operated with 400V 3Phasen+N 50Hz inputs
- The device must be set up securely on a level floor Tensioning of the supply and connecting cables must be avoided
- The traffic light must be made more stable using additional weights (eg sandbags) if necessary and must also be suitably secured to ensure stable standing even at high wind speeds
- Only consumers which do not exceed the following maximum values may be connected 400V 50Hz CEE 32A 3P+N+PE
131 Special operating instructions
The explosion-proof traffic light has been fitted with an explosion-proof power socket The X-zone Switch Off or On device is connected here
Only plugs of type 857112 and 857812 made by R STAHL may be used in connection with this power socket
The wall power socket can only be switched on when the plug has been plugged in If the plug has been withdrawn lock the hinged cover with the bayonet ring

3 Setup
Mechanical fixings for X-zone Switch OffOnAn X-zone Switch OffOn can be fixed to the traffic light foot area To do this unscrew the four star grip nuts from the threaded rods Remove the supporting plate and place the X-zone Switch OffOn on the traffic light foot area with the display elements facing forwards When doing so place the rear Switch OffOn panel between the threaded rods After this place the supporting plate over it and tighten the star grip nuts

Equipotential bonding
The traffic light is provided with an equipotential bonding connection This must be connected to the local equipotential bonding using an equipotential bonding cable gt= 4 mm2 An X-zone Switch OffOn unit must also be connected as above

Switch OffOn electrical connection to Ex traffic light
You must observe the operating manuals provided for the X-zone Switch OffOn and the X-zone 5000
It may be necessary to re-cable the relay depending on the Off or On version used See next page
Plug the 32A CEE Ex plug from the Switch OffOn into the 32A CEE Ex traffic light power socket
Plug the 32A CEE Ex connector plug from the traffic light into the 32A CEE Ex po-wer socket on the Switch OffOn
Connect the X-Zone 5000 via the black plug on the Switch OffOn Connect the power supply cable to the 400V mains supply Switch on the switch at the 32A CEE Ex power socket on the traffic light Switch on the switch at the 32A CEE Ex power socket on the Switch OffOn Operate the X-Zone 5000 in accordance with the operating manual

Connection at relayThe relay in the terminal box has been cabled as delivered so that a Draumlger Switch Off switchbox can be connected
Switch Off versionConnect the black cable core (green traffic light) at the top to terminal 14 on the relayConnect the brown cable core (red traffic light) at the bottom to terminal 22 on the relay
The following cabling must be carried out by appropriate specialists to adapt to a X-zone Switch On Version
Switch On VersionConnect the black cable core (green traffic light) at the top to terminal 12 on the relayConnect the brown cable core (red traffic light) at the bottom to terminal 24 on the relay

5 Traffic light function displays
The traffic light either illuminates red green or not at all The yellow lamp is not used in the standard delivery condition
If there is no voltage available the traffic light will not illuminate

Operation with X-zone Switch OffRelay cabling for X-zone Switch Off If a X-zone Switch Off is connected the traffic light illuminates green if the X-zone Switch Off green indicator lamp also illuminates (no explo-sion atmosphere) If the X-zone Switch Off green indicator lamp is off the red traffic light will illuminate
Operation with X-zone Switch OnRelay cabling for X-zone Switch On If a X-zone Switch On is connected the traffic light illuminates green if the X-zone Switch Off red indicator lamp does not illuminate (no explo-sion atmosphere) If the X-zone Switch On red indicator lamp illuminates the red traffic light will illuminate
Note If when operating with a X-zone Switch OffOn Box the lamps do not illuminate as per the above description this may be due to a non-matching relay cabling (please refer to S10)
Operation without X-zone Off On Switch The red traffic light will illuminate if the cabling is for the X-zone Switch Off If the satellite has been cabled for operation with the X-zone Switch On the green traffic light will illumi-nate
6 Installation
The explosion-proof traffic light must be placed on firm ground with the X-zone Switch OffOn Box fixed to it and secured against tipping over as necessary Avoid tension in the connecting cables
7 Inspectionservicecleaning
Refer to the appropriate national regulations (eg IECEN 60079-17) for information on the type and extent of tests
Set out the maintenance intervals so that all expected defects occurring to the device can be determined in good time
Unplug the connector plug at regular intervals to avoid contact corrosion
Do not open the housing when powered up
Repair and maintenance work on the traffic light may only be carried out by appropriately-trained personnel who are authorised to do such work The device must be powered down before commencing any such work
Observe the applicable national provisions in the country of use

Replacing the bulbsOpen the light field segment front door by undoing the two M5 cylinder head screws the front door is hinged Replace the bulb and then firmly close the door again
Service
The following points must be checked during maintenance work Damage or cracks to housing or light fields Connecting cable in perfect condition Reflectors in good condition Undamaged seals Housingfront doors firmly closed Installation condition acceptable
The following must be checked during service work Cables firmly held Housing for visible damage Observance of permissible temperatures in acc w EN 60079-0Bushings for soiling Seals for damage Function according to intended purpose The connecting plug pin surfaces may not be damaged
Cleaning
Traffic lightOnly clean housing and light fields using a moist cloth in order to prevent static charging We recommend using water with a light detergent for cleaning
Frame Cleaning using cloth brush vacuum cleaner etc If cleaning moist use water or mild non-abrasive non-scratching cleansing agent
Never use aggressive cleansing agents or solvents Avoid penetration of water and cleansing agent into contact bushings
AccessoriesOnly ever use original accessories or original spare parts

6 Installation
The explosion-proof traffic light must be placed on firm ground with the X-zone Switch OffOn Box fixed to it and secured against tipping over as necessary Avoid tension in the connecting cables
7 Inspectionservicecleaning
Refer to the appropriate national regulations (eg IECEN 60079-17) for information on the type and extent of tests
Set out the maintenance intervals so that all expected defects occurring to the device can be determined in good time
Unplug the connector plug at regular intervals to avoid contact corrosion
Do not open the housing when powered up
Repair and maintenance work on the traffic light may only be carried out by appropriately-trained personnel who are authorised to do such work The device must be powered down before commencing any such work

13 Installation initial start-up operation
The installation electrical connection initial start-up operation and maintenance of the explosion zone traffic light system may only be carried out by trained spe-cialist personnel who have been authorised to do so by the equipment owner
Specialist personnel must be familiar with this operating manual and follow the instructions contained therein Before connecting the traffic light system ensure that the supply voltage complies with the value specified on the nameplate The explosion zone traffic light system has been prepared at the works for connection to a Draumlger Switch Off switchbox A Draumlger Switch ON Box can be connected as an alternative However this requires re-cabling of the traffic light terminal box Before switching the system on check all connections for cor-rect cabling again Ensure that the traffic light displays the correct signal colour for the cor-responding condition of the switchbox connected If not check the connections in the re-lay
Before installationinitial start-upRead the operating manual You must also observe the operating manual for the explosion-proof traffic signal 60912 made by STAHLInstallation and operating personnel must be sufficiently trained Ensure that the contents of the operating manual has been completely understood by the responsible personnel The national installation and assembly regulations (eg IECEN 60079-14) also apply

The wall power socket can only be switched on when the plug has been plugged in If the plug has been withdrawn lock the hinged cover with the bayonet ring

6 Installation
The explosion-proof traffic light must be placed on firm ground with the X-zone Switch OffOn Box fixed to it and secured against tipping over as necessary Avoid tension in the connecting cables
7 Inspectionservicecleaning
Refer to the appropriate national regulations (eg IECEN 60079-17) for information on the type and extent of tests
Set out the maintenance intervals so that all expected defects occurring to the device can be determined in good time
Unplug the connector plug at regular intervals to avoid contact corrosion
Do not open the housing when powered up
Repair and maintenance work on the traffic light may only be carried out by appropriately-trained personnel who are authorised to do such work The device must be powered down before commencing any such work
Observe the applicable national provisions in the country of use

Summary of special warning notices
- If the housing is damaged or if the housing components (eg the connecting plug) are damaged the device must be taken out of operation immediately and secured against unintentional operation
- Free cable ends must be connected professionally (eg explosion-proof ter-minal boxes explosion-proof plugs)
- The traffic light must be powered down before the housing is opened - The traffic light lenses may only be cleaned using a moist cloth (danger of
static charging) - Do not use cleaning agents containing alcohol for cleaning - Equipotential bonding must be made via the housing earthing screw This
must be made using a spade terminal and the connecting cable of min 4 mm2
- If the X-zone Switch OffOn box is used the traffic light may only be operated with 400V 3Phasen+N 50Hz inputs

The explosion-proof traffic light has been fitted with an explosion-proof power socket The X-zone Switch Off or On device is connected here
Only plugs of type 857112 and 857812 made by R STAHL may be used in connection with this power socket
The wall power socket can only be switched on when the plug has been plugged in If the plug has been withdrawn lock the hinged cover with the bayonet ring

Traffic lightOnly clean housing and light fields using a moist cloth in order to prevent static charging We recommend using water with a light detergent for cleaning
Frame Cleaning using cloth brush vacuum cleaner etc If cleaning moist use water or mild non-abrasive non-scratching cleansing agent
Never use aggressive cleansing agents or solvents Avoid penetration of water and cleansing agent into contact bushings

Operation with X-zone Switch OffRelay cabling for X-zone Switch Off If a X-zone Switch Off is connected the traffic light illuminates green if the X-zone Switch Off green indicator lamp also illuminates (no explo-sion atmosphere) If the X-zone Switch Off green indicator lamp is off the red traffic light will illuminate
Operation with X-zone Switch OnRelay cabling for X-zone Switch On If a X-zone Switch On is connected the traffic light illuminates green if the X-zone Switch Off red indicator lamp does not illuminate (no explo-sion atmosphere) If the X-zone Switch On red indicator lamp illuminates the red traffic light will illuminate
Note If when operating with a X-zone Switch OffOn Box the lamps do not illuminate as per the above description this may be due to a non-matching relay cabling (please refer to S10)
Operation without X-zone Off On Switch The red traffic light will illuminate if the cabling is for the X-zone Switch Off If the satellite has been cabled for operation with the X-zone Switch On the green traffic light will illumi-nate
6 Installation
The explosion-proof traffic light must be placed on firm ground with the X-zone Switch OffOn Box fixed to it and secured against tipping over as necessary Avoid tension in the connecting cables
7 Inspectionservicecleaning
Refer to the appropriate national regulations (eg IECEN 60079-17) for information on the type and extent of tests
Set out the maintenance intervals so that all expected defects occurring to the device can be determined in good time
Unplug the connector plug at regular intervals to avoid contact corrosion
Do not open the housing when powered up
Repair and maintenance work on the traffic light may only be carried out by appropriately-trained personnel who are authorised to do such work The device must be powered down before commencing any such work
Observe the applicable national provisions in the country of use
