1. Important Information
As component kits, SOLTB are not subject to an EU Declaration of Conformity (pursuant to MRL Appendix II A)
1.1. EU Declaration of Conformity (pursuant to MRL Appendix II)
Regulations and standards taken into account: Machine Directive 89/392/EEC, 91/368/EEC, Manufacturer: Montech AG, Gewerbestrasse 12 CH–4552 Derendingen Tel. +41 32 681 55 00, Fax +41 32 682 19 77
1.2. Product Description and Use
SOLTB are designed for transporting solid objects that are not below a certain minimum size. They are not suitable for transporting materials such as sand, granules, chips, etc. The product-specific ratings listed on the nameplate must never be exceeded.
1.3. Factors Reducing Useful Life
– Direct light from UV lamps – Operation in air containing smoke, dust, water vapor, or solvents.
1.4. Safety Instructions
The use of SOLTB within systems is only permissible if they are secured by MOVABLE, BARRIER-TYPE SAFETY DEVICES according to EN 292-2, Section 4.2.2.3. Noncompliance with this safety measure may result in crushing injuries, such as on fingers. Work on the SOLTB may only be performed after the conveyor has been disconnected from the power supply. Non-compliance with these instructions is considered a misuse of the SOLTB and its components.
1.5. Additional Information
These operating instructions are designed to ensure the safe and proper operation of the SOLTB. If information for your intended use is missing, please contact the manufacturer.

1.6. Validity of the Operating Instructions
We continually adapt our products to the state-of-the-art and new findings from practical applications. Therefore, the operating instructions are updated to match the product modifications. Each operating instruction has an item number, e.g., BA-100093. The item number and edition are on the cover sheet.

2.3. Mechanical Setup
The SOLTB consists of two opposite chassis sections, the length of which can be freely selected within minimum and maximum limits. The minimum or maximum width of the SOLTB will be defined by width-dependent supports. An optional left or right motor tab for a Neugart PLE 40 gearhead is provided. The distance between the two supports should not exceed 500 mm.

2.5. Determining the Conveyor Belt Length
Example: The belt length (LG) for a SOLTB with an axis distance of 1000 mm, roller diameter of 30 mm and a belt thickness of 1.1 mm is calculated as follows: LG = (2 x 1000) + (31.1 x p) = 2097 mm. For the belt to have the correct tension on the SOLTB, 5% must be subtracted from the calculated belt length for belt lengths over 2001 mm. Our example: 2097 mm - 5% will yield a belt length of 1992 mm to be ordered.
Belt length
up to 1000 mm pretension 3%
from 1001 through 2000 mm pretension 4%
from 2001 through 4100 mm pretension 5%
2.6. Conveyor Belt Technical Data
For use with the SOLTB, MONTECH AG recommends the endless belt type UU 10 E RFQ with a flex-proof connection from Ammeraal Beltech. The technical data of the conveyor belt can be found on the nameplate, which is attached to the inside of the SOLTB; it is essential that this data be taken into account when ordering replacement belts.
Conveyor belts must always be replaced in pairs.

3. Commissioning
3.1. Checking/Setting the Synchronous Run of the Conveyor Belt
Procedure: – Let installed belts run for a few rotations. Note the direction of travel. – Mark both belts, using a pencil, with parallel lines that run perpendicular to the chassis. – Let belts run for exactly one rotation. – Measure the offset between the markings. – Synchronous run will be OK if the offset (+/-) between the markings is minimal. – If the offset is too great, an adjustment must be made. – If the offset of the belt to be adjusted is positive (+) relative to the reference belt, turn the adjustment screw
of the belt clockwise (U). If the offset is negative (-), turn counterclockwise (GU). – The guideline value is: 1 turn of the adjustment screw corresponds to a 1.4 mm offset. GU

4. Maintenance
SOLTB are maintenance-free when they are used in accordance with their intended purpose and are not exposed to any factors that shorten their useful life. The intended purpose and the factors shortening their useful life are listed in the declaration of conformity.
4.1. Replacing Conveyor Belts
Procedure: – Disconnect the SOLTB from the power supply. – On one side, slide the new conveyor belts over the diverter roller and hold on to them by hand. Then slightly
stretch the belts until they can be slid over the opposite roller. – Check the synchronous run of the belts. (see 3.1)
4.2. Replacing Deep Groove Ball Bearings/Drive Rollers
When replacing the deep groove ball bearings (20) or the drive roller (10), the inner ring and the bearing seat on the drive roller (10) must first be degreased and then bonded with Loctite 641 or Ergo 4401 (shaft-hub joint). It is essential to allow the adhesive to cure for 24 hours.
4.3. Repairs
The operating instructions contain the necessary spare parts lists and exploded drawings for repairs to the mechanical part of the conveyor. The safety instructions must also be complied with (see 1.4).

6. General Information
6.1. Environmental Compatibility and Disposal
Raw materials used – Aluminum – Steel – Plastics Surface Treatment – Anodizing of aluminum Forming Processes – Aluminum extrusion – Cutting of aluminum, steel. Emissions during operation None Disposal SOLTB that can no longer be used should not be recycled as entire units but disassembled and then recycled by material type. The material type of each component is listed in the spare parts lists. Material that cannot be recycled must be disposed of in the appropriate manner.
