PRAYER REQUESTS: For prayer requests, please fill out a “Prayer Request” sheet (in the registration pad folder) and place it in the “Prayer Request” box on the table in the narthex. SUMMER MUSIC Thank you Aiden Davis and everyone who shared their music ministry with us this summer! Anyone who enjoys singing and would like to join the choir, please come to our first choir rehearsal on Wednesday, September 4, at 8:00 p.m. in the choir room. The bell choir will also begin rehearsing on the 4th (7:15 p.m. in the sanctuary). WE NEED MORE BELL RINGERS! Don’t know how to read music? No problem – we’ll help you! Please consider joining!

STARLIGHT We will have practice TODAY and Sundays, September 15th, and 22nd following the children’s message. We will be participating in the morning worship service on Sunday, September 29th. Miss Nancy

PASTOR’S BIBLE STUDY Pastor Brian will have Tuesday and Wednesday Bible studies during the school year. The TUESDAY Bible study will be at 7:30 p.m. in the pastor’s home (1004 Bear Creek Road, Elizabethtown), except for the second Tuesday of the month. The first Tuesday study will be September 3rd. The WEDNESDAY Bible study will be held in the FROG Café on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m., except when the Praise Team rehearses. The first study will be on September 4th.

Thank You! Thank you to our encouraging Glossbrenner family for your sympathy, compassion and spiritual support during this time of mourning for the loss of our mother Pauline Waters. Slowly our grief is turning to joy, knowing that Mom is with her Lord and family. You're concern, cards and visits are tremendously uplifting. FURNITURE BANK NEEDS The Furniture Bank of Mount Joy needs volunteers to receive, deliver and pick-up furniture. Also, volunteers to show, mark and check-out items. Information forms are on the mailbox counter.

LOVE OFFERING A Love offering will be collected during the regular offering. The money will be used at the discretion of the pastor, to ease the burden of a member of our church community who is in need of our love.

OFFICE HELP NEEDED - SECRETARY ON VACATION I will be on vacation September 21 to 27. Help is needed in the church office while I’m away: Tuesday, the 24th; Wednesday, the 25th; Thursday, the 26th; and Friday the 27th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Also, if anyone would be able to do some “light” cleaning sometime near the end of the week that I’m away, that would also be appreciated! SUICIDE AWARENESS The Rotary Club of Mount Joy is holding 2 events for the entire community concerning Suicide Awareness. The first will be a Panel Discussion and Candlelight Vigil on Wednesday, September 11 at the Milanof-Schock Library. Discussion starts at 6:30 p.m. There will also be a Suicide Awareness and Prevention Walk on Saturday, September 14. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and the Walk starts at 9:00 a.m. The walk is a 2 mile loop that will start and end at Rotary Park.

With “Back to School” sales going on, please keep our college students in mind. We will be sending out packages to them in October. Pens, pencils, tissues (individual size), sticky notes, Highlighters, note cards, small toothpaste, deodorant, ideas are endless. We appreciate any help you can give to let our students know we are thinking of them. Deadline to bring items to the church is October 1, 2019.

CARING HANDS & HEARTS CRAFTING SESSIONS: As we look forward to fall beauty and activities, it is time to get back into crafting for the Country Fair & Market – only two short months away! Everyone is welcome to attend the crafting sessions at the home of Marcia Brooks on the following dates: Thursday morning, September 5, at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday morning, September 17, at 9:30 a.m.

Thursday evening, September 26, at 6:30 p.m. SAVE THE DATE/50-YEAR MEMBER CELEBRA-TION AND CONGREGATION APPRECIATION: We want to celebrate you. Caring Hands & Hearts will be hosting a celebration luncheon to honor our 50 year members and to show appreciation for the entire congregation of Glossbrenner Church on Sunday, September 29, following the worship service. In order for the group to prepare enough food, please fill out the tear sheet included in today’s bulletin. Deadline to sign up is Sunday, September 15.

FOOD BANK SUNDAY Next Sunday, September 8, is Food Bank Sunday. Please place your non-perishable food donations in the cart in the narthex. If you wish to give a monetary donation to Mount Joy Helping Services for the Food Bank, please make checks payable to Glossbrenner U M Church and place in the offering plate. All monetary donations will be used to purchase food. Thank you for your continued support.

RALLY DAY Next Sunday, September 8, we will celebrate the beginning of the new church year with the Rally Day service. Please plan to attend and invite a friend, neighbor, relative!

HERSHEY PARK/GIANT CENTER “WORK” If you find yourself limited in what you can contribute to the church in your offering, consider working at a Hershey Event.
