•Open Doors works in 45 of the world's most oppressive countries, strengthening and equipping Christians to stand strong in the face of

persecution.

•Isolation - from God's word and from the body of Christ is one of their greatest challenges

•Open Doors supplies Bibles, trains Christian leaders, develops Christian communities and raises prayer, presence and advocacy for these suffering believers.

•These Christians are enabled to demonstrate God's forgiveness and reach out in love, even to their oppressors.

•This witness reaches lives and communities, otherwise closed to the gospel - but they need the whole body of Christ to pray and stand with them.

Lord, we praise and worship you for the faithfulness of those who face suffering and hardship for your names sake. May their perseverance, courage and love bring glory to Jesus

LET’S PRAY FOR CHRISTIANS EXPERIENCING VIOLENT ATTACKS

OPEN DOORS UK & IRELAND 2010

We ask you to strengthen Christians experiencing religious violence in places like Nigeria, Pakistan and

India. Restore homes, villages and Churches that have been burnt to the

ground and comfort families who have brutally lost loved ones.


ASK GOD TO BRING HEALING TO CHILDREN AND FAMILIES


Father our hearts ache with yours to hear stories of girls raped and

children forcibly kidnapped because of their faith. Redeem their

lives and that of their parents as you miraculously heal bodies, souls

and minds, and reunite families.


PRAY THAT THE CHRISTIANS WILL STAND FIRM IN THEIR FAITH DESPITE THE PROBLEMS FACING THEM.

Give wisdom to pastors dealing with Christians vulnerable to pressure or

financial inducement to recant their faith. Pour out your grace and mercy and

provide spiritual and practical training and resources to enable Christians to stay

strong in their faith.


ASK GOD’S BLESSING ON CHRISTIAN LEADERS AND THEIR MINISTRIES.


Lord, encourage leaders travelling vast distances, sometimes unable to carry a

Bible with them, as they minister to Churches and spread the Good News. Also encourage spouses left behind to

shoulder the responsibilities of family and the local Church. Enable Bibles to reach

all those who need one.


ASK GOD’SPROVISION FOR JOBS AND LIVELIHOODS


Lord, provide for Christians living as minorities in cultures that discriminate against them. Bless those seeking to bring livelihood and literacy skills to

them. Prosper Christians starting new businesses, when jobs and employment

have been taken from them.


LET’S REMEMBER THOSE IN PRISON


Father, may your presence be close to Christians in prison and

enable it to be a rich mission field for them. Let justice reign

and prisoners set free as injustice is exposed.


LET’S ASK GOD TO RAISE UP MORE PRAYER WARRIORS


Father, raise up more people and prayer groups to stand with and strengthen those who are

being persecuted for you.

We ask in the precious name of Jesus. Amen.
