Time and Attendance

• Comprehensive time management system supporting the recording of time for hourly and benefit eligible staff

• Based on system at Indiana University supporting over 19,000 hourly and biweekly staff

• Built on Rice 1.0.1 and integrated with KEW, KIM and KFS



Time and Attendance

• Configurable to your institution’s policies– Pay Periods– Daily and Weekly Overtime Rules– Clock entry and Manual time entry– Rounding Rules– Premium and Shift Differential Rules– IP Address Tracking



Leave Management

• Evaluating existing systems for a starting point– IU’s ePTO – Leave Accrual and Time off Reporting

for exempt staff– Other Systems

• Looking for an early success– Converting existing system already built on Kuali

toolset

• Can Core HR Transactions be implemented stand alone?

• YES – Use the system as a front end to your existing HR system

• Why implement stand alone?– Workflow enable transactions for electronic routing and approval– Allow for custom business logic outside of your HR system– Take advantage of enhanced functionality over your existing HR

system– Step 1 on your way to full KPME implementation




• IU uses HR eDocs as a front end for PeopleSoft to:– Distribute transactions to departments– Add custom business logic without modifying

PeopleSoft business logic– Lessen impact of PeopleSoft upgrades on the end

user
