Welcome Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation “RMEF” members and friends! We hope that this e-newsletter will serve as a
reminder that the Houston Chapter will be celebrating its 32nd BGB Banquet, on a new date, May 4th at our
new location, the SPJST Lodge. Our Conroe event will take place July 20th at the Lone Star Convention & Expo Center. We plan to celebrate the fact that the Houston’s Chapter ranks among the top twenty-five Chapters in the nation having raised in excess of $2.9 million net dollars towards ensuring the future of Elk, other wildlife, their habitat and our hunting heritage through your generosity at our Banquets over the years. With over 500 RMEF Chapters today, we are also very proud that our Chapter ranks #25 nationally in 2018 with total net revenue in excess of $100,000. These funds have helped the RMEF to protect or enhance more than 7.3 million acres of wildlife habitat and to reintroduce elk to historic ranges around the country.
We are especially proud of this year’s Committee members and Volunteers that have brought an exciting variety of Hunts, Fishing Trips, Destination Trips, Artwork, Merchandise, and dozens of High Quality Rifles and Handguns to our Live Auction, Silent Auction, General Raffle, and a variety of fun Specialty Raffles. On behalf of all our Committee members and Volunteers, we look forward to once again seeing you and your friends attend our 32nd RMEF Banquet.

evaluates charities. They have given RMEF the coveted 4-star rating
for four consecutive years. The achievement denotes RMEF’s exceptional ability to manage and grow finances—a key factor for donors selecting top-performing conservation organizations for philanthropic gifts. Ratings data show RMEF spends just 6.7 percent on administrative costs, and 3 percent on fund-raising costs. Therefore, more than 90 cents of every dollar that RMEF spends goes directly to its mission of ensuring the future of elk, other wild- life and their habitat.
Charity Navigator President and CEO Ken Berger wrote, “Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation consistently executes its mission in a fiscally responsible way and outperforms most other charities in America. This ‘exceptional’ designation from Charity Navigator differentiates Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation from its peers and demonstrates to the public it is worthy of their trust.
Clearly, these goals could not have been achieved without the generous support of the Houston area RMEF members and guests. The Houston Chapter ranks among the top fifteen chapters in the nation for its support of the mission. Currently, there are more than 500 RMEF active chapters nationally.
Your funds have helped the RMEF to protect or enhance vast tracts of land, reintroduce elk to historic ranges, and assure future generations of the opportunity to appreciate the most noble of North America’s big game species.
Please plan on joining us this year on May 4th for our 32nd fund raising banquet. This will be a very special event that
represents the long career of many of the committee members to the RMEF Mission. Don’t forget we also have a banquet in Conroe July 20th at the Lone Star Convention Center. This is a much more casual affair that is fun for the whole family. But whichever one or both that you choose you can be sure that your attendance and contributions will enhance and protect elk and the habitats where they live and the other animals that live there as well. It’s a really important mission and we need your help to make it happen. Please come join us!

Early Season Teal Duck Hunt w/Louie Weiss
Four (4) hunters will enjoy an exciting Teal Hunt in East Bernard, Texas for one (1) day for the 2019 Season.
Bull Elk Hunt in Gunnison, CO
Enjoy a 2019, seven day hunt with two days packing in/out and five day hunting for one (1) hunter. Accommodations: Food and tent camp lodging provided along with horses.

Coues or Mule Deer Archery Hunt in Arizona
For one (1) hunter enjoy a six (6) day Mule Deer or Coues Deer Archery Hunt in Arizona. Accommodations include six nights in hotel, tent, and 5th wheels, transporation during the hunt, and trophy fees. Dates for hunt December 2019 - January 2020.
7 Days at the 2020 Daytona , Florida Speed Week
Spend February Speed Week at Daytona Beach, FL enjoying all the high charged hoopla and atmosphere associated with the first and most honored NASCAR event of the year. This trip will put you and a friend right smack in the thick of the action. Included in the package are two (2) tickets to the Daytona 300 race and two (2) tickets to the Daytona 500 race. It also includes two (2) tickets to the Fan Zone and Condo Accommodations, with an ocean front balcony and full kitchen and amenities at the Royal Floridian Resort in Ormond Beach.
