Greetings from GCCI! Our attempt has always been to keep you updated of our activities and

sharing events and trend of business world. Hence, this and more in this issue of E-News Letter.

Gujarat gives logistics sector “Industry Status” which creates vast potential

for the development of logistic sector in Gujarat State.

Government, industry and people of our country will have to live with rising crude prices, expensive credit and currency movement. Everyone, has to readjust to this till it returns to normal.

We successfully organised a meeting of various NGOs and Association with our M.P. to discuss long pending issues of free hold land and transfer fees.

Rising trade deficit still remaining a concern prevailing on account of swelling of crude import bill due to rising global process and higher gold import which has further added pressure on Indian Rupee.

Our representation to DPT to utilise Oil Jetty no. 5 for the handling of chemicals resulted in to quick positive response in the form of “Trade Notice” by DPT giving consent for handling of Non-POL Chemical at Oil Jetty No. 5.

A full – blown trade war would have serious effects on global economic growth and stability and there would be no winners of such a scenario.

Exemption of IGST for exporters extended till March 31st next year as Government’s E-Wallet scheme to issue speedy refund is still pending.

Component cost for EVs not a big issue, battery could be costly: Baba Kalyani, Bharat Forge

First of all the number of components that you need in an electrical vehicle are significantly lower by scale of 10 than in normal vehicle. I do not see the component costing to be a fairly large issue. The problem is more to do with battery because when you talk about lithium ion, the rare earth metals that are used to make lithium ion whether it is cobalt or lithium, are not found in India and China has created huge capacities to make batteries. Of course, the cost of batteries is coming down every year if you look at the cost per kilowatt hour. READ MORE
