MANDATORY UNIFORM POLICY

SUPPLY LIST

• 5 folders with pockets and prongs

• 5 composition books

• 1 box of crayons or colored pencils

• Scissors

• Erasers

• Yellow highlighters

• Loose leaf paper

• Pencil pouch (no boxes)

• 5 sharpened pencils (no mechanical pencils or sharpeners)

• Baby wipes or Clorox wipes

• 1 box of tissue

• Liquid hand soap

• Headphones

ATTENDANCE

• Come to school everyday

• Be on time (8:35)

• If your child is absent, send a note or it will be marked as unexcused.

• No students shall be released within the final 30 minutes of the school day.

ATTENDANCE POLICYAbsences

• After 5 absences an absence letter will be sent home and a referral form will be sent to the school counselor.

• After 10 absences, a referral form will be sent to an administrator.

• A doctor’s note will be required after the tenth absence.

Tardies

• After 3 tardies in a grading period, a tardy letter goes home.

• After 4 tardies, a referral form will be sent to the school counselor and an administrative detention will be given (early in the morning)

Early Dismissal

• After 5 early dismissals from class, a a referral form will be sent to the school counselor.

MORNING AND AFTERNOON PROCEDURES

Morning

•Free breakfast is available every morning in the cafeteria until 8:15.

•All students are to wait for their teacher at their assigned line on the basketball court.

•If it is raining, students must report to the cafeteria and wait for their teacher to pick them up.

•No students on campus before 7:30 am.

Afternoon

•Parent pick-up is located on the east side of the school in front of the middle school entrance. Please do not ask your child to walk to the main entrance of the school.

•All older siblings need to wait at the younger siblings pickup area.

HOME LEARNINGExpectations:• Home learning is given daily. If your child misses more

than 3 home learning assignments in one grading period, his/her effort grade will be lowered on their report card.

• Please check your child’s agenda each day and sign • Home learning assignments reflect classwork and

future assessments• Students will write upcoming tests in their agenda.• Reading Plus will be assigned 3x’s a week. It is due on

Sunday nights. Students can only access it through their student portal.

• When IXL is assigned, it will be due on Saturday night.

SCHOOL/CLASSROOM RULES• Be in your seat & ready to begin when the bell rings

• Remain in your assigned seat unless authorized to do so

• Do not use profane or derogatory language

• Follow directions the first time they are given

• Keep your body parts & belongings to yourself

• Show respect & common decency at all times

• Remain silent during class instruction

• No chewing gum or cell phone use

• Follow the school uniform policy

• Hallway Behavior - Walk in a straight line: look forward, no talking & keep hands & feet to yourself

HONOR ROLL/AWARDS At the end of each grading period, those students who meet honor roll qualifications

will be recognized. Please refer to the following criteria:

1. Principal’s Honor Roll (Each grading period)

4.0 Grade Point Average (GPA) and above to include all subject areas. (All 1’s in efforts & all A’s in everything.)

2. Bobcat Honor Roll (Each grading period)

3.5 Grade Point Average (GPA) and above to include all subject areas. (All 1’s in effort and a GPA of 3.5 or higher in conduct. (No C’s in any area.)

3. Citizenship Award (Each grading period)

3.5 Grade Point Average (GPA) in conduct. (All 1’s & only (1) 2 in effort & no C’s in conduct.)

4. Perfect Attendance (Each grading period)

Students present every day of the grading period and zero tardies.

5. All Star (End of Year)

Students who receive the Principal’s Honor Roll, Citizenship & Attendance Awards for the 1st three grading periods will be recognized as All-Star students at the end of the school year.

PARENT EXPECTATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

We know that our daily lives are very busy and there are times unexpected events arise. However, we need all parents to be involved in their child’s education each day. When students know their parents are involved and know what’s going on in their classes, they tend to do better.

•Please ensure your child is at school each day and on time.

•Check his/her agenda and make sure they have completed all home learning assignments and have studied for any upcoming assessments.
