An Introduction to the UniversityWe’d like to formally welcome you with a short introduction to the University so please join us in the Arts Lecture Theatre at either 10.00 or 10.30.

There are tours of the facilities throughout the day and you can also take a walk around the Botanical Gardens, check out the Playing Fields or take a look in the Chapel.

The Exhibition 10:00 until 15:00

You’ll find all academic departments, Admissions for application queries, the Student Awards Agency for Scotland and all student support stands in Elphinstone Hall.

NEED HELP?Our team of Student Ambassadors, all current students, will guide you around campus, answer your questions and give you an insight into student life at Aberdeen. Look out for them on campus in their red hoodies and find them at the information points.

HUNGRY?We have a variety of catering options available, from our campus cafes in the Library, Taylor Building, and Suttie Centre, plus a BBQ with meat and vegetarian options on Elphinstone lawn over lunch. We also have a Starbucks on campus and Kilau – a lovely independent cafe on the High Street, which also offers vegan and gluten free options.

TOURSMeet outside Elphinstone Hall for tours every 15mins:

• Campus tours: 08:00-15:00

• Sports tours: 10:45-15:00

Library and Hillhead Student Village tours are self-guided throughout the day.

Living in student halls is a great experience and a perfect way to make friends.

I’m still close friends with the people I lived with, and met, in halls.

Meeting Point Central Building, Hillhead Student Village. Either make your own way to Hillhead using the route shown on your campus map or take the shuttle bus; available from the bus stop on High Street, outside the Chapel from 10:00 to the last bus at 14:30.

Self-guided tours are available throughout the day, until 15:00.

Living in halls of residence with other new students is a great way to settle into university life and make life-long friends.

than 300,000 e-books and over 21,000 e-journals – so you have access to resources on and off campus at a time to suit you

• The Special Collections Centre holds over 200,000 rare printed books and 4,000 archive collections which students are welcome to consult in the Wolfson Reading Room

• The libraries are open daily with hundreds of study spaces in silent, quiet and group study areas, including Co-Labs in The Sir Duncan Rice Library

• Free optional lunchtime workshops to find out how to use the online databases, referencing, and even how to Google better!

Our premier £28 million sports development – Aberdeen Sports Village opened in August 2009, and was used as a training ground for the 2012 Olympics and 2014 Commonwealth Games. The Aquatics Centre – the second phase of Aberdeen Sports Village – opened in Spring 2014.

The venue offers a range of activities, available to all students, and at all levels.

We also have an active Sports Union. Whether you’re a beginner or competitive athlete, the opportunities to get involved are vast and varied.
