Stage 2 Netball Gala Day It was a good day on Friday for year 2 & 3, as they had a netball gala day. There was a canteen for the kids and we had to verse other schools. There were two groups for our school. First, we played Kooringal and the last one was Kooringal again. Then we got back to school, stayed for about five or ten minutes and then we all went home. (Lincoln year 2).

I was on team yellow and Izabel was on team green. Lake Albert and Kooringal were both really good. We had a lot of fun. (Quinn W year 2 and Izabel year 3)

I got to be all of the positions. My favourite position was centre. I had lots of fun. At the end I bought a slushie, large and mixed. I also got to be on the green team. (Oliver year 3)

At the netball gala day, I played on the same team as Georgina. We played lots of different schools. At netball we learnt how to play netball in all of the different positions. (Chayce and Georgina year 3)

Chloe and I were both on the same team. In netball, Chloe was centre in the first round and I was wing attack and we versed the maroons. Chloe and I were exhausted. We played nine rounds!!! (Alleah year 3 and Chloe year 2)

On the netball gala day we played nine rounds. It was really fun. Shanelle and I played many different positions. (Libby and Shanelle year 3)

Mikayla and I went to netball and we got some goals and lost some rounds. We were on the same team and we

got to play different positions. (Mikayla and Elise year 3)

P and C Hello Parents and Guardians Kapooka Public School P&C needs people to come and be a part of the committee. All schools need it and especially ours. P&C have the responsibility of but not limited to; Uniform Shop Maintaining stock levels and distribution of uniforms. Meal deals Planning, ordering and delivering of meals on the day. This is done twice a term. One morning tea and one lunch meal. Mother’s Day and Father’s Day stalls Ordering stock and manning the stalls. Chapel chocolate counts This is a huge part of our fundraising. Every Tuesday we go up to the chapel, count and restock the chocolates for the recruits to buy when they are at the chapel. We share this with the Preschool. It takes no longer than 2 hours out of your day. Most schools have fundraisers that you have to take home and sell yourself. But this school has this great opportunity to have it all done for them. We need some people to take it on or we will have to lose this great opportunity. The more people we have to do this the better, however, one person needs to be on the banking. Discos In the past we have held some of the most amazing discos. The kids love it and it’s all a part of being a kid. Due to no committee members we have been unable to hold them this year. Easter egg hunt The committee organises all of this. From hiding the eggs to buying the little gifts. Again, another thing the kids love. Subsidising excursions With all of that fundraising that the committee does we have been able to subsidise buses for the excursions and the special activities that the school

These are just a brief rundown of what we do. We are not like other committees; we are easy going and laid back. We will be having our next meeting at 0900 on Wednesday the 4th of September. Please come along. These are the things the kids love. I have gotten to know all of your kids and they love seeing the mums and dads come and help at the school. It really brings us all together in this little community. Rachel, Robyn and I hope to see you all there. On a personal note, I am leaving the school as you all may be aware, so we are really looking for a president and someone do the chapel chocolate count. It may seem like a lot of work but as they say many hands make light work. The more people we can get on the committee the less everyone has to do. It’s a fun little school and I would hate to see that all the little things that the P&C does not happen anymore. Sonya Hannan Committee Member Uniform Shop The uniform shop will be closed 30 August. Orders can still be made using the uniform order sheet. The shop will be open at 9am on Friday 6 September.

Fathers Day Stall

We will be holding our annual Fathers Day Stall on Thursday September 29th at 9am in

the school library.

Cost is $5.

Please bring correct cash on the day.

DSM news

We have started the first of the moving groups this week for the children of families relocating at the end of Term 3. If you have any spare shoe boxes lying around the house that you no longer need, we would love to utilise them for our moving groups. The children paint and decorate these boxes to hold their special things and memories in a time when their world is changing. If you do have any spare boxes and would like to donate them, you can leave them at the front office or on the table outside my office. With all the focus being on upcoming postings at the moments, please also remember to inform the school or myself if the ADF member in your family is absent on courses, attachments, deployments or if there has been any changes within the normal routine of your household. If we know this information, we can check in on your child/ren more frequently and give extra support if required. This week a note has been sent home for our term function and this term it will be at the movies. At the

moment, the note sent home was an expression of interest to see how many families would like to attend.

Depending on the interest, will of course, depend if the event is held. It would be very much appreciated if

you could return the note regardless if you would like to attend the function or not. I have attached the EOI

note below in case the school bag monster ate it before it made it to the bench.
