He was born July 1, 1923, in Taylorsville. He was retired from the State of Kentucky, was a United States Navy Veteran of World War II, a member of Duval Masonic Lodge No. 6, and attended Parkway Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Lucille Hagan Summers; his parents, Claude and Exie Summers; a sister, Ardia Ice; and a brother, J.D. Stout. Survivors include a brother, Edward Summers, Mount Washington; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Parkway Baptist Church, with burial in Bard- stown Cemetery. Dr. James Carroll will officiate. Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Saturday at Barlow Funeral Home. A Masonic service will be held Friday evening. He was born Dec. 19, 1925, in Murfreesboro, Tenn. He grew up in Stewart County, Tenn. He received his law degree from Vanderbilt University. He was a member of Phi Delta Phi International legal fraternity. He was a World War II veteran of the 398th Regiment of the 100th In- fantry Division, where he was awarded the Bronze Star. He was vice president of business affairs at APSU and also a re- tired CPA. He was a member of Madison Street United Methodist Church.
