TECHNOLOGY SHOWCASE At Crossroads Public School, we know

that 21st Century Learners need

experiences with technology to prepare

them for the future. We are proud to have:

� a Smart Board in every classroom

� Front Row or Red Cat Audio System in every classroom

� Document Camera and wired computer pod in every classroom

� access for all students to portable Netbook labs, “Clickers” (interactive response systems to engage and assess learning), Livescribe Pens (portable audio recorder linked to text), iPads, etc.

� an incredible Learning Commons (think library/computer lab/Starbucks) with print materials, eLearning opportunities, Mac computers, Smart Board, and plenty of space to learn as a class, in groups, or for individual study

� dedicated staff who are committed to providing technological experiences that increase motivation, technical skills, problem solving and collaboration

Educating the Whole Child

through:

� our school-wide Tribes Program - character education that promotes the creation of a values-based classroom and school community, equipping children with social, communication and problem solving skills

� our English as a Second Language, Full Day Early Learning, and Special Education Programs, all offered in a fully accessible facility

� Niagara Recess Project - Cooperation with Brock University to promote physical activity and anti-bullying strategies

� Healthy Snack Program - Cooperation with Niagara Nutrition Partners to promote healthy eating and assist families in need
