Independent radio stations are thriving. Today’s leading international radio makers are bringing along their favourite artists for a unique two-day festival in Amsterdam. For 30 hours, the Muziekgebouw will become a broadcasting studio where you can experience live concerts and DJ sets. Radio makers will discuss the current status of online radio. Partners in the festival are: Berlin Community Radio [Berlin], Boiler Room [London], dublab [Los Angeles], NTS [London], Red Light Radio [Amsterdam], Stroom [Gent].

In the festival each radio station will present forward-thinking artists considered to be pushing the envelope in their local scenes. Ranging from little-known names to international headliners, they are at the forefront of the independent music scene and will be performing in a unique 30-hour marathon of live acts, dj sets, interviews and live radio.

Much like '70s pirate radio stations, web radio today is produced by independent-minded musicians striving to find their own voice without giving in to commercial pressure. City stations have become hubs for all music cultures with listeners tuning in from around the world.
