1 Important before installation

1.1 Application

Danfoss Online is a tool to remotely manage and administer domestic heat pumps via the Internet. With Danfoss Online, customers canmonitor and control their heating system from any computer that is connected to the Internet. For example, the customer can to controlthe indoor temperature remotely. It also provides the opportunity for a better and safer support for you as an installer by allowing you toquickly and easily control the operating conditions without having to travel to the installation site.

The system also includes an alarm function that forwards the alarm from the heat pump via e-mails and notifications from mobile appli-cations.

1.2 Checklist before ordering Online

1.2.1 System requirements

Danfoss Online is an HTML5-based web production.

This of course means some system limitations and we have chosen to support the four most popular browsers.

These are (in no particular order):

▪ Internet Explorer (latest version)▪ Mozilla Firefox (latest version)▪ Google Chrome (latest version)▪ Apple Safari (latest version)

Other system requirements are that Javascript must be enabled and your browser must accept cookies.

NThe login process is cookie based. These cookies live a short time before they expire. If the system clock onthe login computer, phone, or pad differs more than 5 minutes, the cookie will be too old and login will fail.

1.2.2 Internet in business domains

For the Danfoss Online accessory to work, it takes either a direct Internet connection or a NAT-router/firewall. DHCP must be enabled onthe router. Is there a proxy server (often used by larger companies/organizations), there is currently no support for this.

1.2.3 Internet connection

Since Danfoss Online is based on communication over the Internet, of course this connection is essential. The connection may be divi-ded into two main categories, one of which is called "Mobile" and the second is "Wired". With mobile means that you are connecting viaa 3G/4G Router containing a SIM card, and communicates over the mobile network. In this case, it is important to have a sufficientlystrong GPRS signal where the router's antenna is located. Check with the prospective mobile broadband supplier that there is sufficientcoverage in the area where Online is to be installed.

With fixed connection means is connected to the Internet via any form of cable or fiber. The link between the heat pump, the differentconnection options and responsibilities in between are shown in the figure below.

1.4 Operating the system

Danfoss is responsible for all operations of the site Danfoss Online and hardware. Danfoss accepts no responsibility for the operationproblems due to connection problems at the customer (the customer responsibility) or due to service providers (the ISP responsibility).See previous figure.

The installer may only connect the equipment, DCM, transformers, cables software or similar, sold by Danfoss. Otherwise Danfoss dis-claims any responsibility for operation of the system.
