Shipping. Packages going to an address in the lower forty-eight states are usually sent via UPS. Sometimes we can save by sending small items via the US Post Office, but UPS usually offers the best service at the most reasonable rate. Packages sent to Alaska are usually sent via First Class Priority Air Mail unless otherwise requested. Service to Alaskas mainland is usually two working days. Delivery to an island in Alaska depends on flying weather, but it is surprisingly good. We occasionally get thank you notes (and sometimes salmon) from customers who appreci-ate how quickly they get their packages.

Catalog Pricing. The prices in this catalog reflect our costs when it was printed. Some prices may change before another is printed, so to be sure about a price, call us. Double Taper Super-TuffDouble Taper Super-Tuff wedges are made of tough poly plastic. This is a softer material than ABS. They are a good choice when working in cold conditions. We have never had a broken one, but because they are soft, the heels tend to "beat over" more quickly than ABS wedges.

SINGLE LIFT

Wedges by Double TaperPiller Plastics, the maker of DOUBLE TAPER brand faller's wedges, has been making wedges since 1963. They are the first choice of professional timber fallers everywhere.

Some Double Taper wedges have smooth sur-faces and some are textured. Wedges with smooth surfaces drive the easiest, but tex-tured wedges hold a little better in the tree.

Note: Most of the wedges we sell lift between 1" and 1.5". Also, in most cases, the shorter wedges lift the fastest. The % lift illustrates the rate at which the wedge lifts, so the larger the number is, the greater the taper is. The lower the number, slower it lifts, which can be a benefit when lifting a large and heavy tree.

We carry two types of wedge pouches: one is a leather pouch, the other is made of tough Cordura nylon. Both pouches are the same size and have space for two or three wedges and a file or bar tool.
