DESCRIPTION

Instead of New Years Resolutions, we chose OneWord Resolutions in 2012. The idea is to choose one word to address Who and How do I want to BE? A one word resolution is more than what you want to do. This presentation is a reflection on those OneWords at the beginning of 2013.

EMBRACE2012 brought many new challenges and instead of running I embraced and learned. I seized opportunities that were thrown my way.I took in everything, with an open mind.I embraced 2012 and it has set me up for what will be a great 2013.

FulfillThis year I have been intentional

to fulfill every role that I took on; partner, student, employee,

daughter, mentor, mentee, homeowner, etc. I didn’t begin

anything that I wasn’t absolutely positive I could fulfill. I also

didn’t take on anything new that didn’t fulfill me! It helped me

prioritize, say no to the things I didn’t need, and focus on what I

LOVE.

Kelley McCarthy- Identity

During 2012 I enrolled in two online coaching classes that challenged me to dig deep and look at how I live authentically. The course asked the following questions:-Do you live your truth every day?-Are you doing what you love?-Is your inner life different from the outer life you live?-Are you happy but you still feel like something is missing? After both classes I had a better understanding of whoI was as a person and what it meant to live my truth And love my life.

“Unless we base our sense of identity upon the truth ofWho we are, it is impossible to attain true happiness.”-Brenda Shoshanna-

My 2012 one word resolution was “movement.” This included moving my body more, moving my career forward and inspiring others to move

towards their own goals. After 38 applications and 10 interviews, I finally moved to a new position, which I love. This move also brought my

husband and I together again - after four long years of living apart. By moving more, I also dropped 10 lbs, and am inspired to keep going in

2013. By focusing on only one word, I was able to accomplish some of my goals quite successfully.

Shipoopi!Christopher Conzen

My one word, “Shipoopi”, is a nonesense word from a Broadway musical that you can’t say without snickering at the foolishness of it.

And that was the point – to remind me not to take life (or myself) too seriously, and to find the joy in every moment.

I was successful, with a major assist from my little partner in laughter crime.

Resolution- StrategicI restructured my office,

created new opportunities for myself, told my

supervisor I wanted to try new things (he agreed!), and learned about what I

cannot control.
