Everyday people have a critical role to play in finding a resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and yet their voices remain largely absent from the peace process. We empower the Israeli and Palestinian moderate majorities who support two states for two peoples to hold their elected officials accountable to bring about an end to the conflict. Through OneVoice, young grassroots activists in Israel and Palestine are equipped with the knowledge and skills to be heard as they build momentum and a constituency for the two-state solution locally and internationally.

EXECUTIVE STATEMENTDear Friends,

When I was appointed as the CEO of the PeaceWorks Foundation and OneVoice this September, I knew that the only way for our movement to rise above the serious challenges standing in the way of a two-state solution was for us to become more ambitious in our work. And that is precisely what we are doing.

The OneVoice team continually surpasses my expectations as they make strides towards a better future with each passing day. From town hall meetings to high level political delegations, OneVoice is challenging the status quo and incrementally building an even stronger grassroots movement that will make two states for two peoples a reality.

In furthering this mission, OneVoice Israel (OVI) and OneVoice Palestine (OVP) are launching an innovative multi-platform initiative that combines our grassroots network with a dynamic media campaign to build public support and accountability for the current negotiations, together in partnership with the U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv and the U.S. Consulate General in Jerusalem. At this moment, we are in the process of scaling up our recruitment, deepening our training programs, and devising trusted messaging that will create an environment that will promote a resolution of the Arab-Israeli conflict. This bold new initiative was made possible by two parallel U.S. Government grants, a first in our organization’s history. OneVoice Europe (OVE) has also been effectively soliciting support from the British Government and the European Union, helping build consensus around two states and support for our Israeli and Palestinian teams.

OneVoice is the civil society partner for peace with an established presence in both Israel and Palestine. The over 660,000 Israelis, Palestinians, and internationals that we have engaged so far are representative of our unique network of voices from across the political, socioeconomic, and religious spectrum.

As we move forward together, I am determined to see OneVoice and PeaceWorks realize their full potential to work 24/7 to end the conflict by establishing a proud independent Palestinian state living peacefully side by side with a safe and secure State of Israel.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership.

The Youth Leadership Program (YLP) trains promising young Israelis and Palestinians to become engaged grassroots activists and provides a critical constructive outlet for the current youth frustration stemming from the existing political status quo. The Youth Leadership Program features a unique structure with two mainstream, nationalistic movements working in parallel in both Israel and Palestine.

Emphasis is based on participants gaining the skills to become successful political advocates for the two-state solution, who mitigate conflict at the grassroots level by mobilizing the moderate non-violent majority in their communities. Youth Leaders spearhead unique activities – from town hall meetings that build consensus for tough compromises to public awareness campaigns that underscore the urgency of a peace agreement to initiatives that pressure leaders to take action to move the peace process forward.

This work is further complemented by Women of Influence (WOI), a YLP initiative that empowers Palestinian women to become politically active and assume leadership roles within their communities. This three-phase training project seeks to counter women’s historic political underrepresentation in Palestine by endowing

them with leadership skills, giving them a voice and ability to impact community decisions that will determine the future for themselves, their families, and their homeland.Women of Influence activities have ranged from multi-day skill-building seminars on communications, to guest speaker events featuring prominent female leaders from across Palestinian society, altogether aimed at ultimately increasing the input from women in all sectors. As WOI’s project leader has noted, “We want these women’s experiences to be transferable – from theoretical to practical. This way, they can be a part of the change in themselves and their communities.”

YOUTHLEADERSHIP

• Began the Siaseh Political Cafe series in Palestine to raise awareness around the peace process.

2013 HIGHLIGHTS

To launch its April 2012 campaign promoting awareness of the Arab Peace Initiative, OVI played on Netanyahu’s reference to Iran as a nuclear duck. Eighty “Arab Peace Ducks” along with copies of the API were sent to Israeli MKs to remind them that a potential partner for peace had yet to be given a real chance.

INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMMINGInternational Engagement Program Outreach & Education

For the past seven years, OneVoice’s International Engagement Program (IEP) has aimed to reduce polarization and promote constructive action surrounding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict across U.S. campuses and communities. Through IEP, American audiences are convened to identify their role in ending the conflict as they connect directly with Youth Leaders from Israel and Palestine in six week-long speaking tours held each academic year. Students and community members, partner organizations, policy makers, and international influencers meet face-to-face with Israeli and Palestinian Youth Leaders as they share their challenges, successes, and strategies. IEP forums magnify civil society efforts in peacebuilding and conflict resolution while bolstering the efforts of OneVoice to further the two-state solution. IEP provides the stimulus for audiences to respond to international calls to action - fostering solidarity with the efforts of young grassroots activists in the region while advancing a more accountable American foreign policy.

To date, IEP has engaged 21,000 people from over 100 universities and scores of communities across the U.S. In 2013 alone, IEP held tours in Washington, D.C., New York, Southern California, and the Midwest, reaching close to 5,000 individuals with discussions at 20 universities, in addition to presentations at two separate conferences hosted by J Street and the Holy Land Christian Ecumenical Foundation.

OneVoice Europe’s Outreach and Education Programme (O&E)promotes OneVoice in the UK as the grassroots leader in pragmatic, Israeli-Palestinian conflict resolution, concerned primarily with the core human interests of both the Israeli and Palestinian people and the mobilization of British citizens to take a win-win approach in their dialogue and activism on the issue.

O&E educational programming informs and connects British citizens of all backgrounds and faiths to the moderate majority in Israel and Palestine who support a peaceful resolution to the conflict through

two states for two peoples. This enables UK citizens invested in the outcome of the conflict to represent the true wishes of the people in the region and garner support on the international scale.

O&E has concluded this year having made connections between 40 partnering schools and 23 universities throughout London, Birmingham, and Manchester. Moreover, several of these institutions put forward a selection of their students as applicants for

O&E’s summer residential course, and over 300 participants joined our online forum. O&E also continues to maintain an on-going connection with five synagogues, five mosques, and five churches, alongside a partnership with over 60 other organizations, including interfaith, community development, and local councils. In this year alone, O&E has reached 3,000 people from some of the UK’s largest and most diverse cities.

NEW VENTURES IN PALESTINE2013 marked the resumption of direct negotiations between Israel and Palestine and ushered in a new promise of peace. To complement this progress and OneVoice’s grassroots work, we are exploring several new ambitious ventures in Palestine through the PeaceWorks Foundation.

The Peoples’ Blueprint was created as a strategic framework that enables collaboration between the civic sector (OneVoice) and the economic sector (PeaceWorks) as they build tangible steps towards a two-state solution. The first two initiatives of The Peoples’ Blueprint pragmatically account for our belief that future peace is dependent upon a professionally successful, financially independent, and socially empowered new generation of Palestinians. Furthermore, agricultural development in Palestine is a crucial goal of the Palestinian Authority and donor nations as it represents a keystone to a vibrant Palestinian economic future.

With that in mind, PeaceWorks is currently developing a fully integrated agricultural entrepreneurial venture for young Palestinians which will provide new training, income, and employment opportunities in Israeli-controlled Area C (largely off-limits for Palestinian economic development). PeaceWorks has already obtained provisional agreement from the Israeli government for the project - an

unprecedented accomplishment under the circumstances.

This initiative includes a reforestation program, the introduction of brand new water resourcing technologies, the planting and cultivation of new high-yielding cash crops, a state-of-the-art agricultural technology training center, a production facility, and a cold storage supply chain link to export markets.

From farm to table, this initiative will grow, produce, process, market, and ship its products worldwide, providing jobs and training for Palestinians and an innovative way to challenge the military occupation in Area C of the West Bank. Together, the linkage of political action and agricultural entrepreneurship promotes a regrowth of support for a two-state solution between Israel and Palestine. As our agricultural project evolves, we intend to expand it into one that includes a market, restaurant, national park and recreational venue, and destination conference and hotel center.

To date, we have constructed a local management team, incorporated the PeaceWorks entity in Palestine, briefed key stakeholders, and received support from the highest levels of the Palestinian Authority, as well as the Government of Morocco’s High Atlas Foundation (which will partner with us based on its successful track record undertaking

similar projects in Morocco). Moreover, we have already scouted a number of different potential locations including Bethlehem, Nablus, Jenin, Hebron, Tubas, and Jericho.

To further create positive economic facts on the ground, we additionally conceived the Youth Entrepreneurial Hub (YEH), an online aggregator platform for workforce development that will enable young Palestinians to acquire the vocational and life skills needed to obtain employment and advance along a career pathway. Palestinian university graduates are currently faced with a bleak 51% unemployment rate and have minimal awareness of the organizations already operating in the job placement field. By connecting this existing network of partners with the youth most in need of their services, our portal will break the barriers to employment, thus ensuring that neither the bright minds of a generation nor the programs that have been created to aid them are squandered because of poor dissemination.

ONEVOICE FOR TWO STATESOneVoice for Two States is a bold initiative that empowers ordinary citizens to create a positive environment of support to establish a political climate necessary to make two states for two peoples a reality.

The ongoing resumption of negotiations after more than a three year hiatus presents a significant opportunity to leverage this moment and OneVoice’s capacity toward a truly historic goal. And yet, the renewal of talks have been met with cynicism, resentment, and apathy by large swathes of the Israeli and Palestinian populations, reflective of longer term trends in both societies. If this current negative atmosphere continues, any negotiation efforts will be undermined, with both sets of leaders less likely to take the brave steps necessary to bring this conflict to a close. OneVoice for Two States aims to counter this skepticism and apathy with a highly visible integrated grassroots and media campaign, harnessing our existing organizational capacity to build public support for the negotiations.

This campaign will work in partnership with the U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv and the U.S. Consulate General in Jerusalem. Moreover, for the first time in OneVoice history, we were awarded not one, but two government grants from the U.S. State Department for this ambitious integrated grassroots and media initiative in Israel and Palestine. Government funding is no small feat, and serves as a tangible reflection of the recognition our hard work is receiving.

Having met representatives of the association OneVoice, I was impressed, first of all, by the fact that half of the organization is Palestinian and half is Israeli. This gave me great hope that, one day, people like them will help to bring about a peaceful resolution to the troubles in the area. I am, therefore, happy to lend my support in this way to the cause of peace.

~ Sir Paul McCartney

A Great Investment: Over the past 10 years, OneVoice’s award-winning mission has proven its abilty to build a network of human infrastructure capable of implementing effective grassroots campaigns and youth leadership training in Israel, Palestine, and on the global stage. These parallel movements combine to create powerful synergy, which was recognized in 2009 with OneVoice’s receipt of the UN Alliance of Civilizations Intercultural Innovation Award. OneVoice has additionally received the Artists’ and Humans’ Project Cultural Achievement Award; the 2004 World Association of NGOs Peace, Reconciliation, and Security Award; the 2005 King Hussein Humanitarian Leadership Prize presented by former President Jimmy Carter; and the 2008 Skoll Award. OneVoice has demonstrated successful financial management, an example of which is the $1 million Skoll Award, which resulted in an additional $150,000 grant.
