• Find the sheet of 20 Work ValueCards.

• Read all 20 Cards. Cut them outalong the dotted lines.

• Think about how important it wouldbe to have a job like the onedescribed on the card.

Step 2:Sort the Cards

• The five columns under theImportance Scale on this pagerange from 5 (Most Important) to 1(Least Important).

• Put each card in the column that bestmatches how important it is for youto have a job like the one describedon the card.

• Put exactly 4 cards in each column.You may need to move the cardsaround until you have exactly 4cards in each column.

• When you’re done, the 4 mostimportant statements should be inColumn 5, the 4 next important inColumn 4, and so on. The 4 leastimportant statements should be inColumn 1.

• After you have placed all the cards,record the letter on each card underthe corresponding column number ina portfolio or on a separate sheet ofpaper.

• Go to Step 3 (on page 4) of thisbooklet to figure out your scores.

• Your score for each card is the number of thecolumn you put it in. The cards in Column 5each get a score of 5. The cards in Column 4each get a score of 4, and so on.

• Use the sheet of paper you recorded youranswers on to fill in the boxes to the right.

• For each box, add up the numbers in thescore column and write in the total in the space provided.

• Multiply each total score by the number shownto the right of that box, and write your scorenext to the “=” sign in the box provided.

• Find your two highest work values. Copy your scores and the names of those work values below.
