Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
● Through myMiami students can authorize users (such as parents) and grant them the ability to view information regarding:○ Billing (account balance and online bill paying)○ Class schedule○ Financial aid (financial aid requirements and awards)○ Grades (mid-term and final grades)○ Housing and meal plans○ Personal information (such as local address and phone)
● Access to any/all options listed can be given per authorized user.
Payments● Fall semester tuition is due Thursday, August 6, 2015.● Electronic bills – email notification when bill is available online; bills are
not mailed.● Payment options:
○ Electronic check (eCheck; no additional fee)○ Credit cards (convenience fees apply)

Monthly Payment Plans with Tuition Management Systems (TMS)
The Summary screen provides the user with a view of the total amount due. This includes the
current balance minus any Pending Aid and expected Payment Plan payments.
Students and authorized users can make a payment by
clicking on “One Time Payment” or set up a
payment plan by clicking on “Payment
Plans.”

RedHawk Refunds (direct deposit)● Student refunds can be automatically deposited into a bank
account.● PNC Bank processes the refunds but a PNC Bank account is not
required to deposit refunds electronically. If you do not sign up for RedHawk Refunds, a paper check will be mailed to the student’s local mailing address.

• Submit all required information as soon as possible.• Status of outstanding requirement(s) are also reflected on
myMiami.

Important Financial Aid Information● Enrollment
○ Scholarships require full-time enrollment (minimum of 12 credit hours)
○ Students not enrolled full-time must notify the One Stop via myMiami
● Changes in Enrollment○ Dropping a course○ Withdrawing from the University
● Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)○ 67% completion rate○ Achieve 2.00 cumulative GPA after 4 semesters○ Maximum timeframe to complete degree
Student Health Insurance● Miami University requires all full-time Oxford students to be covered by health
insurance.● If you are covered by a family health plan and are not requesting coverage, you will
need to complete an electronic insurance waiver.○ Waivers must be completed each year and submitted by August 1.○ Waivers can be completed on the Health Services website MiamiOH.edu/health.
● If waiver is not completed by July 10, the cost of insurance will be included on student’s fall bill. If you complete the waiver after July 10 a charge reversal will appear on your bill.
● If insurance coverage is needed (provided by Aetna), visit MiamiOH.edu/health to enroll
