Dear friends,

Autumn is by far my favorite season – crisp, clear October days, back-to-school buzz, pumpkins and

the ability to wear leggings and boots with just about everything.

We have some beautiful new items for you in our Autumn|Winter 2012 collection. Our weavers

made magic with a beautiful black and cream herringbone neutral, and new ikats in shades of navy

and burgundy. Top off any look with three gorgeous new scarf styles with bohemian knotted

fringe. Stay cozy in our soft organic knits, in two new dress styles and a new boatneck tee.

Our artisans have been busy this year, working on new designs and with new fabrics and leather

work. We’re growing our wholesale options for you, including an upcoming catalog that will allow

you to customize your apparel offerings by choosing from our full range of past styles. We also

offer private label!

We’re setting a new standard for ethical apparel manufacturing, where we pay more than double the

regular factory wages to our machine operators (opposite page, bottom). We look forward to

teaching you more about how your clothes are made, helping you to connect to the people behind

the products.

The combination of kitenge and hand-loomed fabric in our a-line skirt is a head-turner. The herringbone fabric

acts almost as a neutral, in a thick weave that is perfect for autumn’s chill. Looks fabulous with tights, boots

and a skinny turtleneck..

Our hand-loomed cottons are made in Uganda by a group of weavers using locally-sourced cotton yarns. Our

bright African prints are sourced from markets in Uganda.

We’ve been craving a backpack for ages – and it’s finally here! The grommets create a slouchy shape, and the

drawstring is made from twisted kitenge fabric. Shoulder straps are adjustable.

Our hand-loomed cottons are made in Uganda by a local group of weavers using locally-sourced cotton yarns.

Our bright African prints are sourced locally from markets in Uganda. Straps are hand-cut from locally

sourced leather in an artisan workshop.

Our Jjembe ‘O’ Wrap Bracelet is the perfect blend of beautiful and rugged. The upcycled leather straps can be

wound around the wrist multiple times and tied.

We locally source our horn and leather in Uganda. The ring is hand cut in an artisan workshop, made from

Ankole horn. The leather strap is upcycled from remnants of upholstery leather from a local workshop. Please

expect variations in the color of the horn ring. Each piece is totally unique.

Wrap is available in black leather.

Amara means “one who is loved” in Acholi, the language spoken in Northern Uganda. This carved wooden

heart pendant hangs on upcycled leather cording and comes in a pouch made from remnants of African print

fabric.

Our wooden heart pendant is hand carved by artisans in Uganda. The leather strap is upcycled from upholstery

leather used in a local workshop.

Necklace is available in black leather.
