After that one group headed to the Conference roomand were briefed about the Company by a presentation which coveredcompany profile, their vision, mission, how they manufacture by Mr. SushilWalia and the entire group followed by the Q & A Session which lasted foran hour. And the other group for plant visit in which we have gone throughthe process of product. The honors were done none other than Mr. RohitBhatia (Managing Director) of the Company. Accompanying him Mr. SushilWalia (Head-Commercial). With such dignitaries explaining us the world ofOnassis, we were just as grateful. This plant mainly deals in manufacturingof steerings gear assembly and its child parts. The parts are exported tomajor OEMs worldwide like UK,USA, Poland, Hungary, Germany, Russiaand Japan. After being briefed through the introduction plant, we were

about to explore the Indias most Prestigious Companies.

    Hands on approach to Production

We are introduced to how the stations work in co-ordination to get optimumresults. The students are taken through a complete channel of stations onthe assembly station and the supervisor explaining each of this complicatedprocess. There was a standard room and metallurgical lab in which all the

products checked out. After that we goes to the assembled parts where rodtightening machine, final component assembling machines , visualinspection bench and DAQ System.

The units where the final assembled steerings are manufactured inassembly lines follow Total Quality Management (TQM) and TotalProductivity Management (TPM). Every sub-unit contributes to theproduction. All these techniques add value to the production. Indeed thereis no surprise they improve their quality and reduce time with ever unit of

    production of steering gear assembly.

After the visit of a company we had lunch which was purely simple foodprovided by them. After that MD of ONASSIS Rohit Bhatia share hisvaluable time, knowledge, experience and guide us how to success incorporate then we all move towards our bus. We also clicked the groupphotographs.
