The EGM of the Club is slated for September 3rd. This will be followed by the annual general body meeting which will be held on September 27th and which will also have elections of the President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and five committee members. The elections are a democratic process and also gives the members an opportunity to select from amongst the contestants the best to administer the club. Select carefully for we need good, focused and talented members in the committee to take the club forward on the next leg of the journey.
As the term of the present committee comes to an end, I must place on record my sincere appreciation to all my office bearers and committee members for their unqualified support. I must also recognize the sincerity and dedication of the staff who have tirelessly put their shoulder to the wheel. And last but not the least, my deepest gratitude to all the members for their support, encouragement, guidance and proactiveness. Form the bottom of my heart – Thank you !!!

The Swimming Competition conducted during August generated tremendous interest. Keen competition and increased levels of talent were clearly visible. Adults and children vied in the true spirit of competitiveness without anyone giving a quarter. Well attended and professionally conducted the event was a runaway success.
The Gym Competition had entries from both men and women. The hunks of PC showcased their well chiseled and toned bodies. The attention to detail, training and dedication was evident in their fitness, stamina and performance. The prize distribution was followed by DJ music.
A music program held on the last Saturday of August featuring Surojit Guha and his team had the audience swaying to some wonderful music of yesteryears.
The months ahead will have lots of events from music, bar, billiards, tennis, other sports, etc. Your involvement and participation will add to the success of the event.
There have been some unsolicited anonymous letters that have been sent to members giving incorrect facts and details. This is clearly meant to disrupt the harmony and the smooth working of the committee and show some of the committee members in poor light. We have been seeing a similar trend during our earlier election and it is unfortunate that such acts are being resorted to. These kind of actions does

The annual swimming competitions of the Presidency club were held on Sunday the 10th of August. The proceedings began at 4 pm by the releasing of helium balloons by all the little children competitors. There were various categories from 6 years on wards to 70 years and above.
The spectators were served tea and snacks as they waited for the competitions to begin. It was a cloudy evening but no hints of rain as yet. The competitions began with the little children events like coin collecting and balloon bursting etc.
This was followed by the free style, breaststroke, backstroke and butterfly stroke for ages up to 15. As the parents were anxious about school tests the following day the prize distribution for the ages up to 15 years was completed. Mr.JayanthMurali IPS,kindly consented to give away the prizes.
The remaining events were then continued and there was active participation from all age groups, ladies and gentlemen. The regular events were followed by the medley and the relay. The main events concluded by around 7.30 pm after which we had the grand finale “The water polo competition”. We had two enthusiastic teams comprising adults and children and they had a fabulous time and played the game with great enthusiasm.
The rains started coming down lightly and we had to move the prize distribution indoors. Our President, Secretary, Treasurer and other committee members were kind to be present and take part in the prize distribution ceremony. Miss.AnushaMurali won the overall ladies championship and the gents overall championship was won by Master.SumerMalhotra. Cocktails and dinner followed the prize distribution.

The annual gym competitions of the presidency club were held from 11th August till 17th August. The grand finale and prize distribution was on Sunday the 17th August. The events for the ladies were treadmill running distance covered in 20 minutes, EFX maximum calories in 15 minutes, cycling and leg raising competitions. The events for the gents were treadmill, efx, biceps curls and benchpress.
All events were conducted over a period of one week. The participants were evaluated by our coach Mr.Tamilmani, along with gym boys Mr.Selvam and Mr.kanagaraj in the presence of a gym member. The results were compiled and the final event of bodybuilding “Mr.Presidency “ was held on Sunday.
We had more than 70 registrations for the competitions. The bodybuilding competitions were held by the poolside under floodlights. The judges were Mr.Jai a former Mr.India and Dr.Sunil Solomon a formerMr.Tamilnadu. The participants were encouraged enthusiastically by the spectators.
The competitions were followed by the prize distribution which was dedicated the memory of Mr.Yeshwanth Ganesan. The head table was graced by our President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and our committee members also attended. They all actively took part in the proceedings.
The overall female championship was won by Miss.Tanushree Palanivel and the over all male championship was won by Mr.R.Shiva. The Mr.Presidency club award was also won by Mr.R.Shiva.
The prize distribution was followed by cocktails and dinner which was accompanied by Mr.Manu Roberts and his orchestra who played some wonderful music into the night. Some members took to the floor and enjoyed a good dance.
The competitions were all sponsored by our own members and a few health product companies.
