Onam, Eid celebrated in a unique way in Dubai

Dubai: As many as 12 expatriates from 9 different nationalities living in Dubai came together to celebrate Onam, the harvest festival of Kerala, along with Eid-ul-Fitr in a very grand manner here recently.

The celebration was organised by Olivia Fernandes, who celebrates all the festivals with lots of fervor and joy in a very traditional way. This event was supported and associated along with Price Global Conference and Events.

The 12 people who participated in this unique celebrations were 3 Indians, 2 Lebanese, 1 Moroccan, 1 Ugandan, 1 Kenyan, 1 Pakistani, 1 Singaporean, 1 Filipino and 1 American. There were 5 ladies and a man who were dressed in traditional Keralite attire, while other 5 ladies and a man were dressed in traditional Muslim dress. A beautiful flower carpet was prepared by all females.

Onam is the harvest festival celebrated worldwide by Keralites and Eid is the most important festival among Muslims, but these celebrations were completely different as everyone from different religion and different nationalities celebrated Onam and Eid in their original traditional manner.

'Our Offices' provided the venue while the makeup was from Naghma, Sona Kapoor provided the Jewelry and the outfits were from Khoobsoorat Boutique.
