First Communion Celebration Next Weekend

The First Eucharist children, with the help of their parents and families, have been learning what it means to be a member of a Eucharistic community. Next weekend, they will be coming to the Table of the

Lord for the first time at the 4:30, 9:30 and 11:30 Masses. It is truly a time of joy for them and for us, as we are all touched by sacramental celebrations. They remind us that we are part of the Body of Christ and that we share in this sacred meal. Please keep the children and their families in your prayers this coming week as they prepare for next weekend’s celebration.

Daystar will be will be this weekend’s Parish Sharing recipient.

During the month of May, a special month for the Blessed Mother, our tithing emphasis will be on mothers and children. Our tithing recipient for next weekend will be the Women's Care Center, a Catholic lay ministry located on Lake Avenue (by Charlotte Furniture). They provide counseling, self-administered pregnancy kits, a listening ear to all who come or call. They make referrals to doctors, service agencies, and also for post-abortion counseling. Chastity information is shared with unmarried clients who have a negative pregnancy test. WCC was formed in 1990. Last year they became affiliated with the American Life League. St. Charles has a long history of association with this ministry...baby showers, gifts from the Advent Giving project, and more than $8,500 of parish sharing.

We Welcome You to St. Charles Borromeo Parish

Thank you for joining us. We are glad you have chosen to worship at St. Charles this weekend. Are you interested in becoming a member of the parish? If you need more information or would like to register, please call Mary Eggleston at 663-3230 x107 or contact her by e-mail at [email protected].

“Did You Know…?” is a new feature that will run in our bulletin and on our website. It will highlight the many activities and ‘good news’ items from the vibrant and busy life of our parish.

…that there are 27 parishioners who are Lectors for weekday and weekend Masses at St. Charles parish?

…27% of our parishioners are involved in social services or advocacy groups in our community as witnessed by Bill Stubler and Kay Cooper who were recognized this past month for their years of volunteer service. Congratulations to both of you!

…that Sr. Marie Adelaide Shire, SSJ, prays for our parish everyday as part of the Sisters of Saint Joseph Prayer Ministry. Thank you Sr. Marie for your prayers.
