Introduction to AccuGlobe• FREE GIS Viewer from DDTI (www.ddti.net)
• Two versions AccuGlobe 2004 and AccuGlobe 2007
• 2004 was used for the IndianaMap Viewing Applications
(92 custom county viewing applications). Part of the 2005 Indiana Statewide Orthophotography Project.
• 2004 still supported through web updates and DDTI support Forum (no new downloads)
• 2007 available for FREE downloading with web updates

Flood Zone Analysis Example
Task: Develop a map and tabular report of all exiting buildings that fall within the FEMA 100-year flood zone in the “Clear Creek - Sinking Creek” Drainage Basin in the City of Bloomington, IN.

STEP 1: Use the
“Select by Attribute” and “Zoom to Selection” tools to locate the drainage basin of interest.

STEP 2: Make
FloodPlain.shp the Active Layer, then use “Select by Line” to identify the floodplain feature to select.

STEP 3: Select The buildings in the
Flood Zone:(a) Select Tools/Buffer(b) Click Only Selected Features(c) Select the features in the Building_Address_Join_Output layer that fall in the buffer(d) Click on single buffer, end a buffer distance of 0 feet, and click Next>>
AccuGlobe will perform the spatial query and select all buildings that intersect the selected flood plain features.

STEP 4: Display the Results
(a) Use the Zoom In tool to take a closer look at the results.(b) Right-click on the building layer and select Open Attribute Table.(c) Select the Show Selected Features in the attribute table to just view the 124 building address records selected out of 34705 total records. Note: In this data set only the primary residence has an address - out-buildings are not addressed.

STEP 5: Export Tabular Data
(a) Select Tools / Export from the Attribute Menu(b) On the Export dialog enter the destination file name, click on the Export Selected Features option, and then click on Export.
AccuGlobe writes out a comma delimited text file of the selected records. This file can then be opened and manipulated in MS Excel to produce a formatted report.

STEP 6: Create Plot
(a) Select File / Print or click on the Print button on the menu to open the AccuGlobe custom printing dialog.
(b) From the printing dialog, paper size, page layout, map scale, charts, and other graphics can be added to the plot.
