Dear readers,

Five months have passed in 2020, in a way that none of us could have ever imagined. For schools and teachers, students and parents, it has been a trying and challenging period. The end of the year activity-examinations, results, beginning of a new term – everything – came to an abrupt halt, thanks to the Covid pandemic.

During this period of successive lockdowns, Mind Wars completed a year. A year in which we saw lakhs of students from over 7,000 schools participate in a programme that allows students to take quizzes on curriculum, general knowledge and current a�airs; all in a fun environment, and online.

For parents and teachers, the word online has so far been a space for entertainment, leisure, with research being the only “serious” part of a world of distraction. The lockdown of the planet saw institutions and individuals scramble around to incorporate the internet into the structured part of daily life, such as school learning, meetings and conferences. Mind Wars �ts beautifully in this scheme of things, since it provides a simple and free testing platform, available in the palm of the hand, free of pop-ups and other distractants, with thousands of curriculum questions already loaded (and topped up every single day).

Additionally, students have gone on to participate in the Mind Wars India TV Game Show, hosted by the well-known actor Shreyas Talpade. The show will resume after the lockdowns are over, and we will be auditioning students from amongst those who are participating in the online quali�ers now. This is a great chance for those who missed it in the �rst round of auditions.

The Mind Wars team sees itself as a partner with schools and parents. Our platform cannot be accessed by students without using a school code which they can receive from the school. Mind Wars is available free on the Zee5 App. Registration is easy, and there are no hidden charges.
