On Friday, April 3, 2020, at The Portsmouth Music Hall, The Freedom Café in collaboration with Sweaty Turtle Entertainment is hosting the American Vinyl All Star Band with members from The Wailers, Boston, Steely Dan, The James Brown Band, & The Doobie Brothers. Proceeds from the event will support the non-profit work of The Freedom Cafe and the NH Human Trafficking Collaborative Task Force. The Freedom Café is a non-profit café working to end human trafficking and the commercial exploitation of all people by providing a space to engage the community in conscious consuming, and empower personal and professional action to address human trafficking. In 2018, The Freedom Café presented 93 educational programs reaching 5621 people and provided in depth advocacy training to 83 volunteers. We hosted 8 student internships, equipping young leaders in management, communication and finance skills as well as producing research and conscious consumer materials for sugar, jewelry and outdoor gear. The Task Force is working to develop and implement a multidisciplinary response to human trafficking in New Hampshire that is coordinated and collaborative, victim-centered and trauma informed, includes prevention, and holds offenders accountable.
