Concept

Vivekananda College, Agasteeswaram, Kanyakumari, which is 2.5 kms away from Kanyakumari Railway Station, came into existence in July 1965 and became a coeducational institution in June 1973. It was established by Vivekananda Educational Society, Agasteeswaram with the sole motive of imparting quality education to the aspiring young minds of the rural background. This noblest dream was fulfilled by the collective effort of Shri S.D. Pandiya Nadar and G.A. Marthandan. It was constructed as a living memorial to Swami Vivekananda, the great sage of the East.

The college is affiliated to Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli. The Prine objective of this college is to hold the students of different faiths to grasp the significance of our indigenous culture and ancient heritage. The teachings of Swami Vivekananda act as the driving force to promote the cause of national integration and peace in the universe.

The college is run by nine executive members elected by ninety three general body members of Vivekananda Educational Society. The Management puts forth strenuous efforts to introduce various new programmes for the expansion and development of the college. As a result, the college is certified with B+ grade by NAAC.

The Department of English was established in 1967. In addition to the academic endeavours, the faculty members also exhibit keen interest in transforming the learners into competent individuals by equipping them with the effective communication skills, enhancing their critical approach to the literary works and updating them with the emerging trends in literature. The department runs successfully with the coordination and cooperation of nine staff members.

Abstract in about 250 words and full Papers in about 2000 words related to the core areas outlined above are invited for presentation at the conference. Abstract and papers should be typed in MS Word 2003/ 2007 version, with font size 12, Times New Roman style. All papers should follow the MLA Handbook-7, or APA manual. The paper should comprise the following sections: Title page, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Material & Methods, Findings & Results, Interpretation & Discussion, Conclusion and Reference. Authors should submit manuscript through e-mail attachment to vc2017eng@gmail.com with full communication address and mobile telephone number.

Papers can be presented in Absentia also. It is an opportunity for the scholars who are unable to participate in person and present their papers. Papers presented in absentia are eligible for publication in the Journal subjected to the panel's approval. A processing fee of Rs.500/- in addition to the registration fee has to be paid for each paper presented in absentia.

All the accepted papers will be published in Book with ISBN and 'UGC' approved Journals with ISSN subject to editing where ever seek essential felt by the Panel.

Participants should send the duly filled in registration form, along with the registration fee in Cash/DD drawn in favour of 'CRRPS' payable at Madurai. Registration fees for co-authored papers should be paid individually. Separate registration fees should be paid for each of the multiple papers.
