ON-BOARDING GUIDE
Dear Muaythai Family,
As IFMA continues on its mission to develop the sport of muaythai, now as an IOC rec-ognised sport and federation, we must strive to be progressive whilst protecting our most important assets, our young athletes. Our athletes are always at the centre of our efforts and events, as we continue to groom them, instilling in them the precepts of Olympism through the five pillars of our sport; respect, honour, tradition, excellence and fair play.
The IOC mission statement for recognised International Federations says: “The International Sports Federations (IFs) are responsible for the integrity of their sport on the international level…. The IFs have the responsibility and duty to manage and to monitor the everyday running of the world’s various sports disciplines, including for those on the programme, the practical organisation of events during the Games. The IFs must also su-pervise the development of athletes practising these sports at every level. Each IF governs its sport at world level and ensures its promotion and development. They monitor the every-day administration of their sports and guarantee the regular organisation of competitions as well as respect for the rules of fair play.”
I am excited to be seeing our latest developmental marker of having an operational and centralised membership and event management platform come to fruition. Through our partnership with Rsportz, we have collaborated over the last 3 years to develop a platform specifically catered for the IFMA. Together with Rsportz’ President Vlad Marinescu with whom we have a long standing relationship and friendship, we now have an important tool for all our member federations and athletes which will help us to build and develop the fed-eration towards our next strategic goals as we evolve and progress along the onward jour-ney towards inclusion in top level Games under the five rings.
