Reassessing our Math Assessment David Martin
I will illustrate how we can assess mathematics without homework checks, worksheets, and multiple choice exams.
Sharing Resources -‐ Math Moodle (10C & 30-‐3) Colin Veldkamp This session will provide you with a quick overview of the resources available on the ERLC Math Moodle sites for Math 10-‐C and Math 30-‐3 and how to access lessons, assignments, quizzes and exams and become involved in this collaborative environment.
Real-‐Life Review Project Holly Crowther This session will explore a project designed as a practical strategy to engage students during the review process. During this project students will review major outcomes while completing a series of real-‐life challenges.
Performance Assessments in Action John Scammell This session will focus on supporting teachers in implementing performance assessments. Setting students up for success on performance assessments involves preparing them, scaffolding, and differentiation. Grading on a rubric will be discussed.
Math 10C: Linear Functions in a Context Stephen Gallagher Students are presented with data from four different contexts and are then asked to analyze the data graphically. The meaning of things like slope and y-‐intercept are related back to the context in the analysis. This approach could be implemented using the Flipped Classroom model.

What's Available in the ERLC's Math 30-‐1 Demonstration Course? Stephanie MacKay We will show you how to access resources posted on the ERLC’s Math 30-‐1 Demonstration site, the Math 30-‐1 Summative Assessment site and the Teacher Discussion Forum. We will also demonstrate some of the digital resources available on the site and discuss how they enhance teaching and learning.
Mathematics 30-‐2: Research Project Information Session & Discussion Rob Shaughnessy This session will explore ideas for how to incorporate the research project into classroom assessment. Come prepared to share what you’ve tried, what you’ll do differently next time, and how to make the project manageable in your classroom.

12:30 pm -‐ 1:15 pm
Puzzles and Games in the Math Classroom Victoria Wisheu In this session we will look at the role of puzzles and games in the learning of mathematics. Participants will have the opportunity to try some out to use with their classes.

Formative Assessment in Action Lori Weinberger Formative assessment allows us to gather the best possible evidence of learning so that we can plan for what to teach next to each student. We will explore Dylan Wiliam’s Five Key Strategies of Formative Assessment and a number of practical techniques that can be used immediately.
Math -‐2 and the ARPDC Learning Portal Candace Ketsa This session will help teachers navigate through both 20-‐2 and 30-‐2 learning portals, showing how to download the resources, access the assessments, and be comfortable using the blog. Time will be allotted for discussions of what we can do to make the learning portal a stronger community of collaboration.

Embedding the Mathematical Processes into the Classroom Kris Reid and Diane Stobbe Embedding the Mathematical Processes into the Classroom Description: The seven mathematical processes are foundational to the conceptual understanding of the outcomes. This session will focus on how the processes look when they are embedded in the teaching and learning in the classroom.
