Our Three Essential PrinciplesIn or school we have three essential principles that we follow by. These three essential principles are trust, respect and responsibility. We need these three things to have an efficient work space. Trust is to have confidence in someone’s responsibility. At our school, you should trust that if you leave something behind in a classroom that it will be safe. Respect is to have consideration for someone or something. For example, if a student is talking, all the other students should be respectful and listen. Responsibility is to be able to take care of something and to be reliable. The students at New Tech should be responsible for their computer and take good care of it. At our school all three of these principles should be honored. This is what makes our school better than others.

Our Four Foundational 21st

Century SkillsOur four foundational 21st Century skills are teamwork, work ethic, personal capacity, and technology use. Teamwork is to work cooperatively with a group of people. If all the people in the group are work together and listening to each other to accomplish their goal, then that means they are using teamwork. Work ethic is when a person believes that work will benefit them and that is it very important. A student that works hard and always study is a person who has good work ethic. Personal capacity is to grow in your attitude, knowledge, and skills. for example, if 5 years ago you had a bad attitude and didn’t know much but now you have a good attitude and you know much, then your personal capacity has grown. Technology use is when you know how to use all technology well and you know what you are doing. When students are doing projects on the computer and they know are using the computer really well then you have good technology use.

Our school is mainly focused on Project Based Learning (PBL).

This includes students solving real life problems. There are five steps in the P.B.L. The first step is the entry document. This is something you read to understand what you are doing. The next step is the know list. On this list, the students write what they have learned from the entry document. then they do the need to know list. On this list they write questions they still have about the project. Next the students have to write their problem statement. The problem statement says who they are, what the problem or project is, and what they have to do to solve it. The last step is next steps. In the next steps part, they have to write what they are going to do next in order to finish the project.
