Oman/Muscat Tours 2 nights / 3 day Muscat City Tour

Day 1Arrive at Muscat Airport. Post immi-gration formalities our representative will meet & greet in arrival hall and take you to the hotel for check-in. Re-lax for a while before we start explor-ing this beautiful coastal city.

Pickup from your hotel at 1700 Hrs and proceed to the Muttrah. Drive along the waterfront cornch and take our first stop at the bustling Muttrah souq. The colourful souq will take you at least a century back. After having enjoyed your time at the Souq, you have short walk along the Cor-niche with lots and lots photo opportunities. The “Frankin-cense burner” is a delight to watch in the night with its full illumination. We proceed for a photo stop to the magnifi-cent Al Alam Palace, official palace of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos flanked by the 16th century Portuguese forts Mirani & Jalali. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2 Muscat – Nizwa Day TourToday morning proceed to Nizwa, the cultural capital of Sultanate of Oman.

Nizwa, capital of the interior, is the birthplace of Islam in the Sultanate of Oman. Nizwa boasts of the famous Round Tower Fort, built in the 17th century, and its Souq re-nowned for its Friday cattle auction, intricately hand-carved “Khanjars” (daggers) & ornamental silver jewellery.

En-route to Jabrin, visit the Bahla Fort which has been declared as a World Heritage site. Jabrin, the finest of Oman’s castles built in the late 17th century, became a seat of Omani learning. The castle displays the highest achieve-ment in Omani ceiling painting & beautifully executed woodcarvings.

On the way back to Muscat visit the pretty village of Birkat Al Mauz situated at the foothills of Jebel Akhdar (Green Mountains). Enjoy a walk through its oasis and dense date plantations. (Packed Lunch) After tour return to the hotel. Dinner at local Indian restaurant (puranmal)Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 3Today after breakfast check-out from hotel and proceed airport for your onward flight. We’ll stop at Grand Mosque for a Photo-stop on the way. Grand Mosque, highlight of the Muscat city. Completed in 2001, Grand Mosque is a beautiful building which looks modern but shows that modern craftsmen have retained the skills necessary to cre-ate this wonderful traditional environment. The handmade carpets, the chandeliers, the ceiling of the great dome in the main prayer room are absolute ‘must sees’. Kindly note- Ladies to be fully covered and to carry a head scarf and men should wear trousers.

Later drop at port.
