OLYMPIC SPORT & ART CONTEST 2012 GENERAL INFORMATION Theme of the contest: “Sport and the Olympic Values of Excellence, Friendship and Respect” St. Vincent and the Grenadines National Olympic Committee invites participants to the National Phase of the IOC Sport and Art Contest during the period September 2011 and February 2012. The theme of the Olympic Sport & Art Contest 2012, “Sport and the Olympic Values of Excellence, Friendship and Respect”, may, of course, be developed and envisaged in different ways; this is left entirely to the discretion of the artists. That is to say, that the artist is at liberty to interpret this designated theme by combining the three values and/or depict only one of the values in the work submitted. The two winners one from each category will become part of the IOC International Phase of the contest where there are also significant prizes. The international phase will include an exhibition of the winning works during the Games of the XXX Olympiad in London. The Contest is open to artists, craft persons, students, teachers, as well as others interested in art around the country, and who are nationals St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and will consist of two stages: a national phase and an interna- tional phase. There is no age limit. There will be significant prizes. There are two categories of works: 1. Sculptures 2. Graphic works (paintings, drawings, engravings, etc.) There are no restrictions on the choice of technique. Both categories include abstract art. SVG VOLLEYBALL ASSOCIATION: Aug 15-19 9am- 12pm, 1-3pm.
