Olympia Exhibition Centre London W13 Project Reference: Lift Modernisation

London’s Olympia Exhibition Centre is arguably one of the UK’s best known and loved exhibition venues and a long-standing customer of Temple Lifts for their lift service, maintenance and refurbishment. To help facilitate improved access for exhibitors, the Olympia management team wanted to have a new ground floor entrance to access an existing goods lift.

The Temple approach and solution

Following detailed conversations with our customer covering both needs and budget, the decision was made to supply and install a bespoke robust manual shutter entrance. As with many projects of this kind, durability was key to our specification, so galvanised steel was chosen as the best material for the door construction.

Additional work

To facilitate the new goods lift entrance, Temple Lifts undertook the job of creating a new entrance, which required building work and subsequent finishing of the surfaces of the 750mm thick wall, prior to the door installation.

The Result

The lift, when back in service will provide Olympia’s employees, exhibitors and contractors an easy-to-use and extremely safe entrance to this goods lift, which continues to be maintained under a Temple Lifts lift service agreement.
