Procession of the Species Celebration 1995 – 2015Beginning Saturday 4:30PM Imagine . . . Create . . . Share . . . Created by the community for the community, the Procession of the Species is a colorful and joyous street pageant using the languages of art, music, and dance to inspire cultural appreciation, understanding, and protection of the natural world. Come celebrate your element: Earth, Air, Fire or Water. Rain or Shine!

PROCESSION SPECIAL EVENTS

Friday Night 9:30 PM - Element of Spirit Luminary Procession! In celebration of the 5th Element of Life – Spirit –the 8th Annual Luminary Procession begins on Washington St. between 4th and 5th Avenues, and proceeds to Sylvester Park for a magical luminary display. Weather dependent!

Saturday 3:30 PM - Chalk in the StreetsWhile you wait for the Procession to begin, local community organizations will hand out 7,000 pieces of colorful street chalk along the route for you to draw the art of nature in the streets. Please respect your downtown merchants and keep chalk on the streets and off the buildings. Thank you!
