MAIN EVENTSF R I D A Y

9 AM • Oaklawn MemorialOlustee kicks o� on a somber note at Oaklawn Cemetery, the burial site of hundreds of unmarked Confederate graves. Each year the Blue-Grey Army, reenactors, and the public join together to pay tribute to these brave men and honor all that lost their lives in the Civil War.

9 am - 5 pm • Arts, Crafts & FoodHand made cra� s, one of a kind gi� s, and specialty items are on display as the festival gets underway. Browse over 200 vendors to � nd that one of a kind piece to take home.

9 am - 5 pm • Food VendorsHave a craving for something tasty? You are sure to � nd just what your taste buds are looking for.

Musicians, dancers, singers, and performers from across the southeast as well as local talent bring the festival to life. Live bands, smooth harmonies, and rhythmic dancing � lls the air as you sit back and enjoy the festivities.

12 pmOpening Ceremonies

� e Blue-Grey Army, elected o� cials, Miss Olustee, and visiting guests take center stage to welcome you to the festival.

5 pmLake Desoto Skirmish

& Battle of the Ironclads� e Lake Desoto Skirmish and Battle of the Ironclads is a sight you will not want to miss! Taking place on the shore of Lake Desoto, Confederate troops defend the town of Lake City against the incoming Union troops marching toward Lake City.

5k Run/Olustee Fun RunRunners take to the streets in downtown Lake City as the annual Fun Run and 5k Run kick o� ! Runners can enjoy the Fun Run at their own pace around Lake Desoto or lace up and set o� on a brisk 5k run through scenic downtown.

9 am - 5 pmArts, Crafts & Food

If you missed out on day one, no problem! All of the hand made cra� s, one of a kind gi� s and tantalizing food are open for business on day two!

10 amAnnual Olustee Parade

Grab your own lawn chair or a blanket and claim your spot along the parade route as hundreds of reenactors, cavalry troopers, historical � oats, horse and buggies, and much more march down Marion Avenue in the annual parade.

9 am - 5pmMain Stage Program

Day two of the festival is time for more entertainment on the main stage. Special guests, visiting impersonators and live music � ll the stage as patrons to the festival enjoy an exciting day of performances and feel good tunes.

Q: How can I become a vendor at the festival? A: Easy, simply go to olusteefestival.com and click on the “Event Registration” tab.

Q: How can I participate in the annual parade? A: Please visit www.olusteefestival.com and visit the “Parade” registration form to participate in the annual parade.

Q: How can I participate in the reenactment? A: Reenactors or Living Historians are permitted to participate in the reenactment and festival. Reenactors belong to a military unit or historical organization and have studied the time period in depth as well as undergo safety training. If you are interested in becoming a reenactor you may want to search for a local reenacting organization or reenactor in your area that can point you in the appropriate direction.

Q: What does it take to be a reeanactor? A: Reenactors or Living Historians, spend hours of time and research building, preparing, and obtaining authentic items such as their tents, gear, uniforms and weaponry. All items are required to be period appropriate to the Civil War. All clothing and accessories must meet those standards and are patterned a� er the original uniforms. Weaponry must meet safety requirements. � e muskets, revolvers and swords are all real and are reproductions of the original arms used in the Civil War. All reenactors are volunteers and participate in reenactments across the United States.

Q: How much is it to attend the festival? A: � e festival is FREE and open to the public.

Q: What time is the festival open? A: � e festival is open from 9 am - 5 pm, Friday and Saturday. A full schedule of events can be found at olusteefestival.com

Q: How much is it to attend the battle reenactment? A: Admission is $12 Adult, $6 Student, pre-school-age children FREE.

Q: What times are the reenactments at the battle� eld?A: � ere is a battle reenactment on Saturday and Sunday during the event. On Saturday the tactical battle is held at 3:30 pm. On Sunday the actual battle reenactment of Olustee is held at 1:30 pm. Space � lls up fast so be sure to get there early to get a seat or you may bring your own.

Q: Where can I or my family stay during the event? A: Accommodations can be found at a variety of hotels in Lake City, FL. Visit StayLakeCity.com for a complete list of accommodations.

Q: Is there transportation to Olustee?A: Yes, FREE bus shuttle service is provided from the Dowling Center, 1.5 miles EAST of the Battle� eld on U.S. 90, directly across from the Baker County Correctional Institution. Shuttle buses will not operate west of the Battle� eld. Service is available beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, and 8:00 a.m. on Sunday.
