Are you interested in being a room parent?Room parent responsibilities include communicating with all families in the class, collecting donations for class parties and end of year teacher gift, planning 3 class parties (Halloween, Valentine’s Day and End of Year) and purchasing a class gift for the teacher at the end of the year. This is a great way to help your child’s class directly and stay involved. Room parents (2 per class) are selected by a lottery system. Any parent wishing to be a room parent should sign up at Back to School Night in their child’s classroom or email Jennifer Asbacher ([email protected]).
Check out all the ways your membership helps your child’s school and join here: https://olneyespta.org/about/pta-membership/
Joining is a quick two step process: first, fill out the simple online form; second, pay via paypal or credit card. Join by October 1st to receive the PTA Directory, which is available ONLY to PTA members.
Volunteer training is on-line this year. We
realize coming to the school for training was a
hardship last year, so please feel free to click
the link below to be trained. Everyone who
plans to volunteer must complete the
training this year even if you completed
training last year. Training includes both an
OES specific module as well as a county-wide
MCPS module. The entire training takes
approximately 40 minutes to complete and must
be completed on a computer (it is not
compatible with mobile devices). The link can
be found here: Training Module. Once you have
completed the online modules, you need to
PRINT the confirmation/completion certificate
from the MCPS child abuse and neglect
module, and SUBMIT it to the main office at
OES. **You may not come to the building to
volunteer until the office has your
confirmation.**
If you have questions or don't have access to a
printer, please contact Bethany Chung
Principal Glawe’s September newsletter is posted on the OES website. Link to it here:http://www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/uploadedFiles/schools/olneyes/homepage/SeptemberNews2016.pdf

join for a small registration fee). The kids will make their way around a course while getting “colored” at
different stations on the course! Kids are asked to find sponsors willing to donate money on their behalf.
Pledging begins Sep. 12th and runs through Sep. 23rd. More details coming soon!
