PROGRAM REGISTRATION POLICIES
The Old Town-Orono YMCA program fees are non-transferable and non-refundable. Exceptions may be made for those with a physical diagnosed medical condition. We reserve the right to cancel, reschedule or combine classes that do not have sufficient enrollment in which case a credit shall be issued. No refund or credits are issued for individual classes missed. If a class needs to be cancelled then we will make every effort to notify you in advance. As a rule, make ups for class cancellations are not provided.

Cancellation/Refund Policy: When registration is below the minimum number required to
hold a class, the Old Town-Orono YMCA reserves the right to cancel the program and
provide those registered with a full refund. After registering for a class, you may change
your mind and receive a full refund if you make the request at least three days prior to
the start of a session. Any refund request received within the three days prior to the
start of a session will be refunded 80% of the total fee. There are no refunds or credits
granted once a session has begun.

Flick & Float Movie Night
The Old Town-Orono YMCA is hosting a movie night on Friday, April 13.
Movies will be shown simultaneously at both of our pools ─ a family film
at Herbert Sargent Therapeutic Pool at the Y, and a Middle School Teen
Night flick at the Community Pool located at Old Town High School.

Youth Sports
Level 1 (Beginner) Tae Kwon Do Tae Kwon Do is a martial arts form that is world known. This class will help you become more in tune with the basics and your body.

Lil’ Tigers Tae Kwon Do Tae Kwon Do is a martial arts form that is world known. This class will introduce youngsters to the basics of the sport.

Your little sluggers will follow an 8-week

Pickleball Pickleball is one of the fastest growing sports in the
country, and at the Old Town-Orono YMCA it’s FREE for
MEMBERS.
We welcome all ages and abilities, and instruction is
available.
Pickleball is a mixture of ping-pong, badminton, and
tennis, and is the perfect sport for athletes of all ages
who want to stay active with minimal impact on the body.

High School Large Group Training
Want to break your personal best? Need a little extra
guidance to feel comfortable in the gym? Our new Large
Group Training program for high school students will provide:

And more to help you improve in the areas you

This 3-week program will meet 3 times per week for a total of

Gymnastics
Preschool Open Play (Ages 8 months to 4): Parent participation is required. The gym is set up with a variety of age-appropriate equipment and is supervised by coaches, but it is unstructured.
Drop in Fee: $5
Mommy & Me (Ages 2 to 4): Parent participation is required. The gym is set up with a variety of age-appropriate equipment. An instructor will take parent and child through activities.

Preschool Movement (Ages 3 to 5): This is an instructed class so children must be able to separate from the parent. The focus is on stimulating motor learning using various age-appropriate equipment and activities.

Recreational Classes (Ages 5 and up): These developmental classes begin with an introduction to the fundamentals of gymnastics and progress to teaching beginner to intermediate gymnastics skills. These classes are co-ed. They are broken down by ability as well as age.

Boys Gymnastics (Ages 5 and up): Progressive training in gymnastics fundamentals with exposure to boys specific apparatus. Develops strength, coordination, balance, and body awareness to enhance performance in sports.

Tumbling (Ages 8 and up): A structured class providing training on tumbling skills, including the round-off, back handspring and more advanced flips.

Open Gym (Ages 5 and up): A non-structured class. The gym is supervised by coaches but it is non structured.

In House Team (Advanced, Hotshots & Pre-team. Invitation Only): Gymnasts can choose how many days a week they would like to attend. Once chosen the days cannot be changed throughout the session. Days cannot be added or subtracted once the session has started.

GYMNASTICS PRIVATE LESSONS
Private lessons are a great way for an athlete to get one on one time with a coach and master those tough skills they may be struggling with. It is also a great way to get some extra time in the gym to help the individual keep progressing through our program.

Stages A & B (Ages 6 months to 3) - formerly Parent Child Program: This program provides the highest quality of early water experiences for children from six months to three years. Program instruction is directed toward helping parents work with their children. One adult must accompany each child.
Fees: Member $40 / Non Member $64
Stage 1 with Parent (Ages 2 to 5) - formerly Pike With Parent: Similar to an independent pike class, parents are involved with the structure and teaching techniques in the program. Basic skills such as floating, paddling, kicking and water acclimation are introduced to gain independence in the water and prepare your child for the independent swim program.

Aquatics
Preschool Swim Lessons (Ages 3 to 5): This program introduces children to their first experience swimming without a parent. It is a great way for the kids to learn how to be independent and have fun in an aquatics environment.

Youth Swim Lessons (Ages 6 and up): These lessons consist of four separate, progressive levels that focus on stroke development, water safety, personal growth, and fun.

Looking for a way to stay motivated in your swim workout? Why
not swim from Maui to Hawaii ─ 30 miles between the two
tropical islands!
To join the Old Town-
Orono YMCA Spring 1
Swim Challenge, simply
keep track of the laps
you swim during each
workout at one of our
pools and record the
distance in our log
book and on our map
of the session
challenge. Other session challenges will include swimming the Bay
of Fundy, around Manhattan Island, and more!
If you can complete every challenge throughout the year, you will
receive a YMCA Swim cap and a YMCA Swim Challenge shirt.
How many laps is a mile?
1 mile = 1,760 yards = 72 lengths = 36 laps.

Indoor Tracks
Don’t skip your walk or run just because Mother Nature isn’t cooperating. Bring your exercise indoors to our track located in the Field House. Tracks are open during regularly scheduled hours of the Y rain or shine.
NOTE! The tracks are closed as follows to allow Old Town and Orono high school runners practice time:

Rock Climbing Semi-Private Lessons
Climbers will not only learn how to approach rock
walls but they will also learn how to help other
people through them, as well. By the end of the
session, participants will be able to belay themselves,
others, and will know what to do in emergency
situations. Maximum of three participants per class.

Silver Sneakers® Splash: Activate your urge for variety! Splash offers fun, shallow-water movement to improve your agility and flexibility while addressing cardiovascular, strength and endurance conditioning.
Deep Water Fitness: This program uses deep water moves in varying combinations and uses resistive equipment such as hand buoys and noodles, plus weight belts for support if desired.
Water Conditioning: This class is a total body workout that focuses on strength conditioning while using the deep, mid, and shallow parts of the pool.
OLDER ADULT
Silver Sneakers® Classic: Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement, and activity for daily living skills.
Silver Sneakers® Yoga: This class will move your whole body through a complete series of seated and standing yoga poses.

Zumba®: Zumba classes feature exotic rhythms set to high-energy Latin and
international beats.
Gentle Flow: A fitness-based approach to Vinyasa style flow. Students focus on linking
conscious breath with a mindful flow while building strength, flexibility, and concentration.
Les Mills BODYPUMP™: BODYPUMP™ is the original barbell class for absolutely
everyone, giving you a total body workout that burns calories, shapes, and tones without
building bulky muscles.
Butts & Guts: High intensity interval training workout featuring exercises that work
your core and upper thighs.
Tabata: Tabata interval training is one of the most effective types of high intensity
interval training. Through a variety of simple, yet intense exercises, each class will blast the
calories and provide noticeable results in a short amount of time.
Yoga 4 Everyone: Yoga for everyone meets the needs of beginner or advanced
students. This class is for everyone. Discover the health benefits of yoga while building
strength, releasing tension and increasing flexibility in the body.
Les Mills BODYFLOW™: The Yoga, Tai Chi, Pilates workout that builds flexibility
and strength and leaves you feeling centered and calm. Controlled breathing, concentration
and a carefully structured series of stretches, moves and poses to music .
Gentle Yoga: A perfect way to destress and soothe frayed nerves. This class seeks to
achieve physical, mental and emotional relaxation.
Warrior Fitness: Find your inner warrior through strength, endurance, and stamina
workouts, which can be modified for any fitness level and ability. This class focuses on full
body training that will allow you to go farther than you thought you could.
Indoor Cycling: This class is a great cardiovascular workout. Pedal through hill climbs,
sprints, and many other challenging drills and exercises. All levels are welcome. Remember to
bring a towel and water bottle!
Zumba® Gold: Zumba is a Latin-inspired, dance fitness class that incorporates Latin
and international music and dance movements for the Older Adult or Zumba beginner!

Fitness Assessment: Are you curious about your current fitness level? If you are, then fitness testing is for you! This program is designed to be completed in two separate one hour sessions.
In the first hour, you will have your body fat, circumference measurements, flexibility, upper body & lower body strength, as well as cardiovascular tested. Based on your results, your Personal Trainer will create a program designed for YOU that will focus on areas you want to see improvement in. The second hour will be devoted to instruction and implementation of your new program!

Member Orientations: Our fitness staff is here to help you enjoy our Fitness Center. We will meet with you individually and teach you how to use our equipment. (Sign up at the Fitness Desk).

Warrior Fitness Team
The Warrior Fitness Team will train and
compete in two events this season:
The Zimmerman Challenge - Noon-5
p.m. April 21 @ the University of Maine.
Register on the Zimmerman website.
Cost is $80 per team of four.
The Wicked Muddy Mainer - 8:20 a.m. heat on July 7 @ the
Thornton Family Campground, Orrington. Register on the
Wicked Muddy Mainer website. Cost is $75 per person
All participants who run as part of the team receive a FREE Old
Town-Orono YMCA Warrior Fitness Team T-shirt. Sign up at the
front desk and give your T-shirt size. You must sign up at least two

Personal /Group Training: Our personal trainers will schedule time to meet with you, one-on-one, to provide comprehensive fitness programs and create innovative and effective workouts to meet your individual needs. We also offer small and large group personal training. Sign up by yourself, with your spouse or a few friends and overcome the hurdles that are preventing you from reaching your fitness goals.

a scholarship application at the Y’s Welcome Center.
