• Don’t be afraid to be yourself.

• Try to be open-minded.

• Be aware.

• Be active

• Be studious.

• Have a great time.

• And most importantly, don’t forget to call your parents and loved ones often (only occasionally asking for money).

Thank you and welcome to Woodrow Wilson Rehabilitation Center!

Listen Up • To the person’s having sex in the Barnett Laundry Room, you’re being watched. We know who

you are and we’re waiting for you to turn yourselves in, if not we’ll come to you about this issue. Your condoms have been found in the laundry room!

• Just to let all students know, the smoking area at the Barnett Laundry room is a mess. Cigarette butts and trash everywhere and its got to stop. Staff is complaining and so are parents. You’re rep-resenting WWRC, you must remember that. If the problem with the smoking area continues then we’re afraid we’ll have to take that smoking area away.

In The News at WWRC

Angela Bean was ordained as a minister on Wednesday the 17th of September 2008. Congratulate Reverend Angela Bean.

We would like to congratulate three students. All three students won an award. The students received their award at this past Friday’s gradua-tion ceremony. Congratulation goes out to RJ Vance, Hilary Bishop & Mandy Trifiatis.

If you would like to be ordained as a minister you can do so at http://www.themonastery.org

Pictures of the carnival are coming soon.

We would like to congratulate the 3 students who worked on the Annual Re-port this year. The Annual Report has never been done by WWRC clients before, this is a first for Keith Burt in Marketing. Congrats Hilary Bishop, Adam Ducey, & Angela Bean. You 3 did a great job on the Annual Report. It looks great.

The SGA would like to personally thank all the students who helped with this year’s SGA Carnival. You helped us make the 2008 car-nival a success. Thanks to every-one who helped out with the carni-val.

Volume 1, Issue 9 Page 7 Poems by: Angela Bean

Take me in your arms So now, little man, you've grown tired of grass LSD, goofballs, cocaine and hash, and someone, pretending to be a true friend, said, "I'll introduce you to Miss Heroin." Well honey, before you start fooling with me, just let me inform you of how it will be. For I will seduce you and make you my slave, I've sent men much stronger than you to their graves. You think you could never become a disgrace, and end up addicted to Poppy seed waste. So you'll start inhaling me one afternoon, you'll take me into your arms very soon. And once I've entered deep down in your veins, The craving will nearly drive you insane. You'll swindle your mother and just for a buck. You'll turn into something vile and corrupt. You'll mug and you'll steal for my narcotic charm, and feel contentment when I'm in your arms. The day, when you realize the monster you've grown, you'll solemnly swear to leave me alone. If you think you've got that mystical knack, then sweetie, just try getting me off your back. The vomit, the cramps, your gut tied in knots. The jangling nerves screaming for one more shot. The hot chills and cold sweats, withdrawal pains, can only be saved by my little white grains. There's no other way, and there's no need to look, for deep down inside you know you are hooked. You'll desperately run to the pushers and then, you'll welcome me back to your arms once again. And you will return just as I foretold! I know that you'll give me your body and soul. You'll give up your morals, your conscience, your heart. And you will be mine until, "Death Do Us Part"

Depression I am not happy all the time Sometimes I feel I’ll never find happiness within myself I live with pain, hurt, loneliness Every day is a struggle A struggle to survive A battle I’m fighting within Every breath is a fight for survival As I gasp and slowly come up for air I have a deep understanding of depression I've lived with it all my life I take a puff of my cigarette Depression too often Walks hand in hand with a deep sense of helplessness I feel the evils and hurt found within our society Lost friendships, lost loves The way we see ourselves is often colored by alter of our depression But no matter how badly it seems to hurt Someone somewhere has felt it too!

Down Yonder Under a Blue Sky down yonder under a blue sky raining in the morning fields of hay oh what to say what is life that there must be controlling my brain which makes me INSANE blue sky like a pocketful of sapphire or diamonds run run to be incomplete not whole yet not round don't make a sound just hit the ground your wound so tight you eat light so many pretty colors blues and greens and purples like a hippie stuck in a tye dye paradise running and running till I cant run no more two breaths and I hit the floor one two buckle my shoe three four hit the door

We welcome suggestions and ideas from every student at WWRC. We would like more students to be involved in the content of the Old Ragtime News Newsletter. We are looking for students to submit arti-cles and ideas to the e-mail addresses listed above. Come out and enjoy the activities that we have planned for you, come participate in the committees, submit articles and your poems to the newspaper. Thanks for making this dream come true.
