FROM OUR PASTOR
Do nothing out of selfishness or out of vainglory; rather, humbly re-gard others as more important than yourselves, each looking out not for his own interests, but also for those of others. These words of St. Paul call us to follow the example of Jesus in the way we treat others, especially the poor. These words have been lived by many followers of Christ throughout the ages. Today we remember St. Vincent de Paul, a man who looked out for the interests of others, especially those in most need. We ask his blessing on our parish and especially on our confer-ence of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, who continue to put the words of our Savior into practice.
As we move into October, we will make some changes to our Masses. Keep praying for an end to this pandemic, that we once more may worship God in our beautiful church and share its beauty with our visi-tors. St. Vincent de Paul and St. Agnes, pray for us! God bless you all!

IMPORTANT NOTICE ABOUT MASSES
As we move into the fall weather, if current restrictions continue, we will be adjusting our Masses.
Weekday Masses as of September 30: Our weekday Masses will be in the garden on Wednesdays and Fridays at 9:00 AM (instead of 8:00 AM).
Sunday Masses as of October 11: Our Sunday Mass schedule will shift:
ENGLISH MASSES: Our 8:00 AM Mass will be live-streamed, with Communion following in the parking lot. Our 9:30 AM Mass will be in the garden.
SPANISH MASSES: Our 11:00 AM Mass will be live-streamed, with Communion following in the parking lot. Our 12:30 PM Mass will be in the garden.

People Helping People will be in the parish hall of Mission Santa Inés every Thursday, from 12:00 noon to 4:00 PM, until further notice. Every-one is welcome, no documentation or pre-registration required in ad-vance. Mask required. There will also be dog and cat food available from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM.

¿SABÍA USTED? Las palabras pueden ser señales de alerta de abuso. Muchos niños estarán aprendiendo desde sus propios hogares este otoño, pero eso no significa que estarán completamente protegidos de abuso. Lamentablemente, la mayoría de los niños son abusados por alguien que se considera una persona “conocida y de confianza”, que pudiera ser un miembro de la familia, y que hasta puede vivir en la misma casa que el niño o niña. Preste atención a las conversaciones de sus hijos, ya que las palabras pueden ser indicadores de que un niño está siendo abusado o dañado sexualmente. Si su hijo/a o sus amigos parecen “saber” más sobre temas sexuales de lo que se espera para su edad, o parecen inusualmente enfocados en esos temas, esto puede ser indicador de que algo inapropiado o dañino está sucediendo. Hable con sus hijos sobre estos temas, asegurándoles que es importante y seguro que ellos le digan lo que está sucediendo. Nada hagan por espíritu de rivalidad ni presunción; antes bien, por humildad, cada uno considere a los demás como superiores a sí mismo y no busque su propio interés, sino el del prójimo. San Pablo nos acuerda de las palabras del evangelio y el ejemplo de Jesús: el servicio de los demás, especialmente los pobres, es central a nuestra identidad cristiana. Hoy es la fiesta de San Vicente de Paul, un hombre que vivía estas palabras en cuidar a sus hermanos más necesitados. Pidamos su ayuda para que nosotros podamos seguir su ejemplo; damos gracias también por el servicio de los miembros de la Sociedad de San Vicente de Paul de nuestra parroquia, que ayudan a sus hermanos en necesi-dad.
Por ser el tiempo de otoño, vamos a ajustar el horario de las Misas. Y sigamos rezando para que termine pronto esta pandemia, especialmente para que poda-mos de nuevo tener la Misa en la iglesia. San Vicente y Santa Inés: ¡Rueguen por nosotros! ¡Que Dios les cuide!
