Witness fast paced presentations on some of our district's inspirational service projects and the positive impact they're having worldwide! Your $20 registration covers the beer and street taco fest afterwards! LEAD Tom Sandler reported on the very successful LEAD weekend at Camp Cuyumaca. The LEAD (Leadership, Ethics, Aspirations & Determina- tion) Conference is a leadership and personal development program for 8th grade students. Tom has been our RYLA chair for years which is a leadership weekend for high school juniors. Angela Kahn flew in from New York to partici- pate in the October 24th and 25th weekend training! Gary Stemple served as club host on October 27th. Gary announced that Francis Parker Interact participated in Project Mercy on Saturday October 24th along with members of the Fallbrook Rotary Club. Francis Parker typically participates in this homebuilding project in Tijuana with Old Mission Rotary but this year the school’s homecoming was on the same day. Wounded Warrior Oktoberfest Dinner Mark McAnelly grills bratwurst at the Naval Medical Center at our Old Mission Rotary Wounded Warrior Oktoberfest Dinner on Tuesday, October 27th. Sailors and Marines were treated to Ger- man themed dinner and root beer floats! Old Mission Rotary along with the Knights of Columbus of Our Mother of Confidence Church- served up 180 sausages donated by Tarantino Meats. Sixteen Gift Cards worth $25 each were distrib- uted at the dinner. Mark’s friend Kimberly Owen donated eight of the gift cards! Millenial wanna be Mike Rogers is busy with his smart phone at a recent meeting. Perhaps he was even tweeting!

Lydia Stewart represented Old Mission Rotary at the Kearny Mesa Rotary Bowling for Peace Fund Raiser on Saturday, October 24th. Money raised from the event will be used to fund high school students to attend the Rotary District 5340 Model UN in the spring.

Brian Dempsey was happy to report that the stock market has recoved dramatic losses in the late summer!
